Our feelings are so fickle. They fluctuate depending on our circumstances, much as our moods change with the weath- er. The good news is our feel- ings don't change the facts. God's promises are unchange- able, they are written in stone. We must determine to believe what God says instead of what our emotions say, and then de- clare his promises out loud. We are remembering those in need of a boost in their faith, who are ill and in need of God's healing touch, those who have lost loved ones, our country, nation and our leaders. If you are in a church where your preacher is preaching things like there is no need to go out and spread the gospel, because God already knows if that person or persons are going to be saved or not. Run, don't walk away from that church. Surely we all know that God knows everything, even how many hairs are on our head. Can you imagine if Billy Gra- ham had believed this way, he would never have had a cru- sade. This is a false teaching. A Father's Tears "And straightway the fa- ther of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbe- lief" (Mark 9:24). When Jesus spoke to the disciples about the mothers who were coming with their little children to Him, He told them to allow the children to come and forbid them not. In this story He uses a stronger word. When the father of the lunatic had told Him that the disciples had not been able to cast out the evil spirit and Je- sus had reproved their unbe- lief, He said, "Bring him un- to me." The expression is a stronger one, setting forth the same truth. The little ones were quite ready and willing to come to the loving stranger to be blessed. This poor child, at times all unconscious or rebellious, had to be brought, whether he knew it or not. There can be no evil spirit so strong, no resistance so desperate, but the parent has the liberty and the power to bring his child to Jesus.
