D-2 Wednesday, Feburar y 23, 2022 The Press-Dispatch Independent Independent Church of Christ Lutheran Church of God Baptist Christian Catholic Methodist what you feel to be true? Our feelings are so fickle. They fluctuate depending on our circumstances, much as our moods change with the weath- er. The good news is our feel- ings don't change the facts. God's promises are unchange- able, they are written in stone. We must determine to believe what God says instead of what our emotions say, and then de- clare his promises out loud. We are remembering those in need of a boost in their faith, who are ill and in need of God's healing touch, those who have lost loved ones, our country, nation and our leaders. We invite you to worship with us. Ralph Newkirk, Pastor Marla Morrison, Reporter BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH An Independent Baptist Church 4995 N. Co. Rd. 850 E. Thought for the week: "Nei- ther height nor depth, nor any- thing else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Je- sus our Lord" (Romans 8:39). Be in prayer for the lost, the sick, our church, our country and leaders, and always each other. Gods blessings on you this week. Try to be kind and show God's love, because everyone is fighting some kind of battle. If you don't have a church home, we invite you to any of our services. Gary Watson, Pastor Nyles Head, Assoc. Help yourself to "FREE FOOD" and may God Bless all of you. In II Peter 2:1 He warns us of false teachers and preach- ers. Beware of false teachings. If you are in a church where your preacher is preaching things like there is no need to go out and spread the gospel, because God already knows if that person or persons are going to be saved or not. Run, don't walk away from that church. Surely we all know that God knows everything, even how many hairs are on our head. Can you imagine if Billy Gra- ham had believed this way, he would never have had a cru- sade. This is a false teaching. We are to spread the Gospel through out all nations, we are to share the good news. "And He ( Jesus) said unto them, go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15). "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel. For it is the power of God to salvation for every- one who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (gentiles)." A Father's Tears "And straightway the fa- ther of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbe- lief" (Mark 9:24). When Jesus spoke to the disciples about the mothers who were coming with their little children to Him, He told them to allow the children to come and forbid them not. In this story He uses a stronger word. When the father of the lunatic had told Him that the disciples had not been able to cast out the evil spirit and Je- sus had reproved their unbe- lief, He said, "Bring him un- to me." The expression is a stronger one, setting forth the same truth. The little ones were quite ready and willing to come to the loving stranger to be blessed. This poor child, at times all unconscious or rebellious, had to be brought, whether he knew it or not. There can be no evil spirit so strong, no resistance so desperate, but the parent has the liberty and the power to bring his child to Jesus. To every disciple, to every father and mother, in every extremity of sin or need, Christ's voice is heard calling, "Bring the child unto me"—Andrew Murray. "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us." When we set aside our plans and care for others then we're acting like Jesus. Jesus sacri- ficed having a home, reliable income, and social accep- tance to travel and share God's truth. Ultimately He gave up His life to free us from sin and show us God's love. "Earthly success is much different from success in God's eyes. He values the compas- sion that moves us to rescue disadvantaged and hurting people (v 17). He approves of decisions that protect people. With God's help, we can align our values with His and de- vote ourselves to loving Him and others, which is the most significant achievement there is"—Jennifer Benson Schuldt. How has the quest for suc- cess affected your life? Why is it sometimes diffi- cult to align our values with what matters to God? "Heavenly Father, I want to be successful in Your eyes. Teach me how to love others the way You love me"—Amen. Josh Sanders, Pastor Sherry Julian, Reporter WHITE RIVER CHAPEL UMC 3555 W. So many trials come into our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us.
