Poplar Street, Petersburg Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday Obituary Deadline Every Monday at 5 p.m. BRUCE AVERY DAVIS Bruce Avery Davis, 60, a resident of Columbus, IN, passed from this life at 11:08 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Bruce was born in Owens- boro, K Y, August 26, 1961, the son of Clarence and Glo- ria Daugherty Davis. Bruce served our country as a United States Navy veter- an rising to the rank of Avia- tion Structural Mechanic Pet- ty Officer First Class. He en- tered active duty in Louisville, Kentucky, May 14, 1980. He served during Operation Des- ert Storm in five sea deploy- ments. In 1983, Bruce was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for Non-combat Heroism. He retired from the Navy and was honorably dis- charged in Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, May 13, 1994. A fter retiring from the U.S. Navy, Bruce worked in armored transportation for banks. Bruce's grandchildren were very important to him, and Bruce always enjoyed a day of fishing. Bruce is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Brad) Os- walt of Columbus; grand- daughters, Eloise and Char- lotte Oswalt of Columbus; his parents, Clarence and Glo- ria Davis of Chandler, Indi- ana; brothers, Kevin Davis of Washington, Indiana and Keith (Dana) Davis of Vin- cennes, IN; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Davis. In keeping with Bruce's wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the con- venience of the family. ETOLIA MAE "TOOT" DREW WILKINSON Etolia Mae "Toot" Drew Wilkinson, age 81, of Hunt- ingburg, formerly of Oakland City, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 p.m., on January 28, 2022, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. She was born November 22, 1940, in Oakland City, Indi- ana, to Dewayne and Edna (Al- dridge) Drew. Toot worked in manufacturing for Whirlpool and Sears, and enjoyed paint- ing ceramic statuettes. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by one brother, Ron (Elaine) Drew, Sr. of Huntingburg; one niece, Krisna ( Will) Cara - vantes; two nephews, Ronnie (Krista) Drew, Jr. and Rusty (Courtney) Drew and by nine great-nieces and nephews, Ca- leb, Carter, Lorianna, Erik, Isaiah, Ethan, Waylen, Jaxton and Emerson. Condo- lences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com MARILYN ALLEEN FET TINGER Marilyn Alleen Fettinger, 82, of Petersburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 10, 2022 with her sons by her side at Amber Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born September 6, 1939 to Sherman Henry and Lela Marie (Leighty) Rhodes. She married the love of her life, Neaville Louis Fettinger, on May 1, 1959. Neaville went to be with his Lord on Octo- ber 16, 2009. She had worked at Nich- oles Photo Studio in Evans- ville and Sattlers Restaurant in Petersburg before marry- ing Neaville and moving to Greenwood. Upon retirement they moved back to their roots in Pike County. She was a member of the Gospel Center Church in Pe- tersburg where she served in AWANA, choir, nursery, and Sunday school. She participat- ed in the "Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames" drama several times. She was an avid euchre play- er, being on two euchre teams simultaneously. Even when dementia affected her mem- ory, she retained her ability to play. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Larry (Angie) Fet- tinger of Petersburg; daugh- ter-in-law Carla Fettinger of Greenwood, IN; grandchil- dren Larry (Shelby) Fetting- er II of Niles, MI, Steven Fet- tinger of Norman, IN, Brandi (Brandon) Blake of Bargers- ville, IN; great grandchildren Trinity, Austin, Zeke, Nicho- li, and Grayson Fettinger of Niles, MI and Brendon Mill- er, Gabbriella and Natalya Blake of Bargersville, IN; sis- ters Joyce ( Jim) Lawrence of Huntingburg, IN and Loretta ( Jim) Hangley of Greenwood, IN; and brother Ted (Beth) Rhodes of Linton, IN. RUBERT WILMUS ADAMS Rubert Wilmus Adams, 80, of Wheatland, went to be with the Lord February 9, 2022. He was born in rural Mon- roe City, on June 20, 1941, to the late Rubert and Bessie Ad- ams. He attended and graduat- ed from Monroe City High School in 1959. He was an electrician with Indianapolis Power and Light Company, in Petersburg, for 31.5 years. He married the love of his life, Betty (Stafford) Adams, on April 5, 1964. He was a proud member of the Walnut Grove Church and past volunteer for the Lord's Warehouse. He en- joyed many things in life such as watching westerns, being a handyman, making shop lights, watching South Knox Boys basketball and Rivet High School basketball, and attending auctions and flea markets. He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Betty; children, Ray (Elizabeth) Adams and Beverly Adams; grandchil- dren, Stephanie, Ryan, Brit- tany and Joy; siblings, Eliza- beth (Tom) Reel, Elaine ( Joe) Ochs, Cyrus (Peggy) Adams, Eleanor Pesch; and many niec- es and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cur- tis Adams; nephew, Keith Reel; and niece, Brett Adams. Barbara was born on Sep- tember 19, 1940 to the late George Bruce and Dytsel (Al- dridge) Bruce. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping, being outdoors, IU Basketball and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born in Tell City, on May 19, 1960, to Richard and Yvonne (Taylor) Lindauer. He worked at Kimball In- ternational for 41 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved God and was a member of Ayrshire Val- ley General Baptist Church. He is survived by his lovely wife of 33 years, Carrie; Moth- er, Yvonne Lindauer; sister, Di- ane (Fred) Weber; Brother, Kalvin (Linda) Lindauer; and several nieces and nephews. LambBasham.com MARY KR AMER Mary Lillian Kramer, 86, passed peacefully from this world to the next, on Febru- ary 9, 2022. She was born November 13, 1935, the youngest daughter of Prentice and Ida Montgomery of Oakland City. At age 19, she married Charles Robertson. Together they had four children, Dean- na (Chandler), Lori (Henson), Chuck, and Dan; and shared 36 years of love and laughter before Charles passed in 1991. In 1998 she married James Larry Kramer and gained a stepson, Bret. She loved her garden, her family and the Lord. Her faith and service was a fundamen- tal part of her life, as was her church family. She taught Sunday school and served as Treasurer of the Nazarene Missionary Society for many years. The simple pleasures in life brought her greatest joys - a cup of hot tea, working jigsaw puzzles, watching her bird-feeders and sitting by her fireplace. While it is a comfort to know that she is rejoicing with her Heavenly Father, she will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind, including her husband, Larry; children; ma- ny beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended relatives; and life-long friends. She was reunited in heaven with her husband Charles; her parents; and her four siblings. LambBasham.com NELL MARLENE FITCH Nell Marlene Fitch, 84, of Princeton, passed away, Tues- day, February 8, 2022 at her home surrounded by her fam- ily. She was born August 31, 1937 in Winslow to the late Jeffrie and Helen Corn. She graduated from Winslow High School in 1956. She retired from Hansen's Manufacturing after 32 years of service in the inspection de- partment. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton for the last 50 years where she held many roles: Sunday school teacher choir member for more than 40 years, and also helped with Merry Missions Circle and MOPS. She also loved to travel, cook for her family, but most of all spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her lov- ing husband of 55 years, Rich- ard "Dick" Fitch of Princeton; two daughters Marsha Carli- le (Mike) and Stephanie Re- neer (Tank) all of Princeton, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters; Jane Bailey, Mar- tha Meyer, Mary Butler and Gail Johnson. STEPHEN EARL WHEELER Stephen Earl Wheeler, bet- ter known as "Slider" or "Wild- man" of Winslow passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 after reaching the age of 71. He passed away peace- fully with his two daughters, Stephanie Coleman and Krys- tal Breeding by his side. Stephen was born on Au- gust 2, 1950 to his mother and father, Delmas Wheeler and Imogene Padgett. Both pre- ceded him in death. February 12 was his mother's birthday, so we find joy knowing he is celebrating with her today. Steve was blessed with ten siblings. Some were whole, half and step, but if you asked him, they were all his broth- ers and sisters: Delama Wil- lis, Nickolas Wheeler, Ange- la Mearling, Richard Padgett, John Horton, Kelly Horton, Beverly Rainey, Pam Harmon, Rhonda Bozikis, and Carrie Meade. Steve was a wonderful fa- ther to Stephanie Coleman/ Robert Houchin and Krystal/ Curt Breeding. He is survived by six grand- children and six great grand- children. He enjoyed most of his days loving and caring for Rita, and his dog Minnie-lou. Steve was retired from the City of Vincennes trash and recycling department. He was an active member of the Amer- ican Legion Post 115 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Winslow. Slider loved to go mush- room hunting and fishing. He came to know Jesus in 2021 and was proud to tell his friends of his new relationship. He was a man who didn't care much of himself but cared a lot for others close to his heart. Steve was strong, proud, and a genuinely good man. Graveside services were 1 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb- ruary 15, at Ashby Cemetery in Arthur, IN. Harris Funer- al Home was in charge of ar- rangements. CLINTON J. CULLISON Clinton J. Cullison 87, of Bicknell, IN. passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. Clinton was born in Vin- cennes, IN on January 8, 1935 to the late Clinton Calvin and Stella (Perry) Cullison. Clin- ton married his love, Donna Sue (Durham) Cullison on August 16, 1959 in Vincennes, IN. Clinton served in the Army 82nd Airborne Division and af- terwards worked and retired after as a shift supervisor at Hoosier energy. He is survived by his wife, Donna Sue Cullison; a sister, Betty Wolfe from Terre Haute, IN; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Clinton enjoyed many activ- ities and interests: the Frog Follies, Hoosier Cruisers Car Club and Wood Carving. He was an avid sports fan for NA- SCAR, Cardinals baseball and IU basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clinton Cal- vin and Stella (Perry) Culli- son, his son, Doug Cullison, brother Don Cullison and sis- ter Doris Steward. Clinton requested to be cre- mated and no service held. His final resting place will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes at a later date. JAMES DONEL THARP James Donel Tharp was born on September 29, 1936, to Floyd James Tharp and Lau- rie Price Tharp in Pike Coun- ty Indiana. He died on January 31, 2022, in Lynchburg, Va. James was the United States Air Force Senior Master Ser- geant for 23 Years (Retired). He worked at English's Hard- ware in Altavista, Virginia (Retired). James worked as a contrac- tor and helped build/repair numerous houses, cabinets, and furniture, for friends & family in Altavista and sur- rounding areas. He was an active member for 50 Years in the Masonic Fraternity (Lodge #316 Alta- vista, Va.), a member of The American Legion, addition- ally, James was a member of Lynchburg Moose Lodge #1416, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of Lynch Station Baptist Church and a member of Scottish Rite. James was always willing to lend a helping hand in any way that he could. James loved flying planes lo- cally whenever he had the op- portunity. James was a loving, devoted husband for 51 years. James leaves to cherish his memory his wife Peggy Keg- ley Tharp.
