A non-profit organization that was formed back in 1971, the Timeless Classics of Pike County club still has three of the original members, and holds the Cabin Fever Cruise- In and Auction, the last Satur- day of every January. The club also holds a car show the last Saturday in May each year, to raise additional money for the community. The auction held in January, is a picture cruise-in. "People bring pictures of their cars to enter for a trophy, since most car people do not like to get their cars out in winter, due to bad weather," Kristie Sand- ers, club secretary, said. "For that one, we only ask that they bring an item to be auctioned off." All the monies raised at both events go back into the community as donations. "Some donations we make are to Somebody's Place, Lit- tle League, Boy Scouts, Clothe a Child ministries, Pike Cen- tral Post Prom, Pike Central Middle School Calendars, Junior Achievement, PAWS, Pike County 4H, and we main- tain the fountain and bridge at Hornady Park," Sanders said. "Several of our members al- so volunteer to help with the Christmas lights in the park. This is just a short list of some of the donations we make year- ly." If there is any organization in need of donations, they can contact Timeless Classics of Pike County, at P.O. Box 494 Petersburg IN 47567. The next meeting for Time- less Classics of Pike County is Thursday, February 10, at 423 Smokehouse in Peters- burg. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. Come early if you would like to order food. If you have any questions about the club, you can con- tact Kris Sanders at812-309 - 4599 or Bob O'Rourke at 812- 582-1668. Joe Schwenk holds up the first sale of the auction, a Tickle Me Elmo, along with Greg Hamm, who also helped with the bidding. Roger Uppencamp, Donna Uppencamp, Max Barrett, Brenda Barrett and Dave Goodrid, the Timeless Clas- sics Kitchen Crew, kept the chili, hot dogs and deserts coming at a recent Cruise-in and Silent Auction. Bob O'Rourke is pic- tured with his Frost Top replica he built. "I en- joyed building the Frost Top Drive-In replica for the clubs auction this year," O'Rourke said.
