CALL 812-354-8500 OR EMAIL NEWS@PRESSDIPATCH.NET WILLIAM WINEINGER William Boyd Wineinger, 91, went to his forever home on Saturday, February 5, 2022, surrounded by his children. He fought the good fight, and finished his race at the home he shared with his daughter and son-in-law, in Otwell. He was born May 27, 1930 to William Franklin Wineinger and Helen Myrtle (Richard- son) Wineinger, in Ireland. He married the love of his life, Shirley Imogene Dunn, on May 6, 1955 at the home of her parents, in Otwell. Shirley went to her eternal reward on Jan. 22, 2021. He enlisted in the United States Navy on April 28, 1949, spending most of his time on the U.S.S. Kaskaskia, during the North Korean Aggression and his home port in San Pe- dro, Calif. He received an hon- orable discharge from the Na- vy on Jan. 15, 1951 and joined the United States Air Force (USAF) on Jan. 16, 1951. He, along with only five other air- men, served in an early warn- ing station in a secluded ar- ea close to enemy territory. He later was transferred to a larger base in the central part of Japan. While serving in the USAF, he received the United Nations Service Medal, Na- tional Defense Service Med- al, the Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 15, 1955 from the USAF. He farmed with his family in Velpen, prior to his enlist- ments. He owned and drove a semi-truck for most of his life. He and Shirley team-drove to- gether over the road for sever- al years. They worked togeth- er at the Jr. Food Mart and Subway, in Petersburg, for a number of years when Shir- ley was the manager. They loved riding motorcycles, boating, camping and travel- ing with their children. For many years, after retirement, they lived during the winters in their home in Melbourne, Fla. He loved to read, ride bi- cycles, feed birds and squir- rels, and spend time with his beloved wife, children, grand- children and great-grandchil- dren. He was very proud of his military service and was a life- long member of the VFW in Petersburg. He is survived by his children, Calvin (Christy) Wineinger, of Velpen, Debra Brown, of English, and Mar- cia (Keith) Hill, of Otwell; his brother, Phillip Wineinger, of Freedom; sisters Lillian Sievers, of Texas, and Glo- ria Street, of Fla; his beloved grandchildren, Nate and Lo- gan Wineinger, Aaron Stand- ley, Aric and Abby Boger, Min- dy Hill-Keeker, John Hill and Katie Cullen. He was blessed with 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he adored and who adored him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; brother Lloyd Wineinger; sis- ter Sherrell Jackson; son-in- law Mark Brown; and grand- daughter Melanie Wineinger. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. EST, Friday, Feb. 11th. 2022, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with his grandson-in-law, Rev. Ian Cul- len, officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. un- til time of the funeral. Military grave side services will follow, at the Otwell Cem- etery. Online condolences may be made at ODHarrisfuneralhome.com LINDA SENDELWECK Linda R. Sendelweck, 80, passed away on January 27, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd, in New Albany. She was born in Otwell, to the late Glen and June (Glad- ish) Richardson. She was a retired teach- er with New Albany Floyd County Schools. Beginning in 1967, at Floyd Central High School, where she was Dean of Girls; then Hazelwood Ju- nior High School in the ear- ly 1980s; and finally at M. Lu- cille Reisz Extended Services Center, where she was a teach- er and counselor to adults, as well as, pregnant and parent- ing teens, through 2001. She was a member of several civic organizations, including, Busi- ness and Professional Women (BPW ), and Faculty Wives in the 1970s; 4-H leader and Hos- pice volunteer in the 1980s; and most recently enjoyed the fun and fellowship of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her hus- band of 58 years, Jerald Sen- delweck; two children, Sarah (Daniel) Alexander, and Ste- ven Sendelweck; two grand- children, Katherine Alexan- der and Nicholas Alexander. Fahrner, 78, of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born January 23, 1944 in Iowa City, Iowa to Martin and Frances (Straw) Lasley. She had lived in Oakland City for 30 years, previously living in Francisco. She had at- tended Oakland City Church of the Nazarene and Clarks Chapel Church, near Somer- ville. She had worked as a truck driver for Riss Truck- ing out of Northern Indiana. She is survived by her chil- dren, Randy (Elizabeth) Las- ley, of Otwell, William A (Da- nette) Fahrner III, of Parma, Ohio, and Victoria Linn ( John) Mouck, of Princeton; sever- al grandchildren and great grandchildren; and siblings, Stephen Lasley and Tammy Lasley, both of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wil- liam A. Fahrner, Jr., in 2015; sisters, Kathy and Patsy; and brothers, David, Michael and Martin. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Corn-Col- vin Funeral Home, in Oakland City, with Rev. Darin Nossett officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service, on Sat- urday. GR ACE PINNICK Grace Luann Pinnick, infant daughter, of Kevin and Savan- nah Pinnick, of Oakland City, passed away Thursday, Febru- ary 3, 2022 at St. Vincent Hos- pital, in Evansville. She is survived by her par- ents; a sibling, Riley Jayde; and grandparents, Keith and Denise Pinnick, of Oakland City, Charlie and Carla Knoll, of Oakland City, and Julia Paz, of Boonville. A graveside service will be held at 11 am (CST), Tues- day, February 8, 2022 at Ash- by Cemetery, in Pike County, with Pastor Nate Denning of- ficiating. Interment will follow the service. Braunecker, 68, of Ireland, passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at The Timbers of Jas- per. He was born in Hunting- burg, on December 4, 1953, to Leonard and Clara Mae (Gress) Braunecker. He married Sarah Sten- ftenagel on October 21, 1978, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper. She preced- ed him in death on December 31, 2021. He was a graduate of Jasper High School. He was a hard worker and worked at Sham- rock Cabinets and was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ire- land, Indiana, and the Ireland K of C. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger; he real- ly loved talking to people. He enjoyed horseback riding and loved spending time with his wife, his son and grandson. He is survived by one son, Benjamin Braunecker, of Sten- dal; one grandson; his moth- er, Clara Mae Braunecker, of Ireland; five brothers and sis- ters, Debra (Dennis) Wick- man, of Ireland, Jackie (Clive) Braunecker, of Jasper, Gayle Davis, of Indianapolis, Jeff ( Ju- lie) Braunecker, of Jasper, and Stacy (Dan) Smith, of Stendal. Preceding him in death, be- sides his wife, are his father, Leonard Braunecker; and two sisters, Karen and Jill Braunecker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednes- day, February 9, 2022, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ire- land, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Weisman, 80, of Otwell, passed away at 7:36 p.m., February 5, 2022, at the University of Louisville Hospi- tal in Louisville. She was born August 16, 1941, in Huntingburg, to Law- rence and Helen (Bartelt) Cox. She married James L. Weis- man on May 4, 1968, at Salem United Church of Christ. She worked in the Human Resources department for Jasper Seating. She was a member St. John's Lutheran Church, in Otwell, where she was a member of the praise team. She was also a mem- ber of the Celebration Sing- ers; and was part of many vol- unteer efforts with her church and community. She is survived by her hus- band, Jim, of Otwell; two daughters, Julie ( John) Bott, of Carmel, and Lisa (Chad) Cundiff, of Otwell; three sib- lings, Betty Jo (Tom) Erwin, of Jasper, Jay ( Judy) Cox and Roger (Pam) Cox, both of Huntingburg; and by seven grandchildren, Eli, Isaac, Jo- nas, Cameron, Colton, Aidan and Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sib- lings, Duane Cox, Beverly Phillips and Susan Kuhn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. EST, Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Otwell.
