It was moved Saturday afternoon due to the snow and ice late last week. "We had a really good showing last night. Nearly everyone who swam broke their personal record," said Charger Swim Coach Jason McK- inney. Jillian Bailey, a junior, placed in the top eight in all four of the events she competed. Individually she placed sixth in the 100 backstroke in 1:06.96 and 8th in the 50 freestyle in 26.55. She was also a member of both the fifth place 200 medley relay and the fourth place 400 freestyle relay team. The 400 relay team of Xavery Weisman, Madison Riley, Alexis Os- walt and Jillian Baily peeled 11 sec- onds off their preliminary time in the finals to move up two places in the fi- nals to fourth place in 4:13.50. Weis- man and Oswalt are freshmen and Bailey is a junior . "It was their best time of the year, taking off 11 sec- onds is huge," said McKinney. The 200 medley relay team of Ri- ley, Oswalt, Emma McKinney and Bailey placed fifth. They swam a 2:02.35 that was three seconds fast- er than their preliminary time. Along with her two relay finish- es, Oswalt placed ninth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:08.34. It was six seconds faster than her pre- lim time. It actually was the seventh fastest time, but because she did not place in the top eight in the pre- lims, she could finish no higher than ninth. Senior Maddie Riley placed 10th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.74. She also was a member of the 400 freestyle relay and 200 med- ley relay teams that finished fourth and fifth. Freshman Xavery Weisman placed in four events. She had individual places of 16th in the 200 individu- al medley in a time of 2:44.11, and 14th in the 100 fly in a time of 1:17.05. She also was on the 400 and 200 re- lay teams. Freshman Izzy Luker finished 10th in the 100 breast in a time of 1:20.68. That time would have placed her in seventh, but she didn't qualify in the top in the prelims. Emma Krieg placed 12th in div- ing with a score of 202.4. Tessa Vinnedge placed 13th with a score of 201.05. "Throughout the night we swam really well, especially with the weath- er and sickness we had to deal with. I couldn't be more pleased with the way it turned out," said McKinney. The team results were: 1) Jasper 459, 2) Tell City 336, 3) Heritage Hills, 4) Southridge 240, 5) N. Har- rison 144, 6) Tecumseh 139, 7)Bed- ford NL 134, 8) Pike Central 133, 9) Corydon Central 97, 10) South Spen- cer 88, 11) Forest Park 87, 12) North- east Dubois 42, 13) Vincennes 26, 14) South Knox 22, 15) Lanesville 16. Young netted her second basket to start the second quarter, but Washington's, Ken- cia Levasseur, got a rebound basket and then, Chloe Browning swished her second three bagger for a 27-4 lead. Pike Central's, Kya Sullivan, reciprocated in kind with a shot from behind the arc for a 27-7 score, with four minutes left in the half. The Lady Chargers got into double fig- ures the same way, when Kahle Young net- ted a three from center court to finish the half trailing 39 -10.
