PETERSBURG • 812-354-9909 SUNDAY MORNING Worship and Children's Church 10:15 a.m. WEDNESDAY Transformed Youth Ministries 6:30-8 p.m. Sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things. Psalm 98:1 (KJV) May God bless and protect you in 2022! Happy New Year May God bless you and yours in this new year. GRACE G.B. CHURCH 1007 E. Union St., Winslow HAPPY New Year GOD bless your 2022 Main Street Presbyterian Church Petersburg • 812-354-6844 Otwell Wesleyan Church State Road 257 • Otwell from Pastor Roy Stilwell and Margie and the Otwell Wesleyan Church 2022 Wish that the New Year be a messenger of joy, happiness, peace, smiles and good tidings for you and your family. trespasses, your heavenly Fa- ther will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespass- es" (Matt. 6:12,14,15). (See also Matt. 18:34,35; Mark 11:25,26; Luke 6:37; 17:3,4). Note carefully in the king- dom examples above that forgiveness was extended by the heavenly Father only when forgiveness was first extended to others. Likewise the other is forgiven only if he repents. The order was: 1) Offense committed. 2) Con- frontation and rebuke. 3) Re- pentance of offender. 4) For- giveness extended by the vic- tim. 5) God's forgiveness ex- tended to the victim. Forgiveness in our Per- sonal Relationships. We are instructed to deal with others in the same way that God has dealt with us. He has already forgiven us complete- ly and forever. Therefore, we are to forgive others in the same way. Questions to ask for those who struggle to for- give others. 1. Since God has forgiv- en you all trespasses (past, present, and future), is it rea- sonable or right to withhold forgiveness from those who trespass against you? 2. Are you not grieving the heart of your heavenly Father by your unforgiving spirit? 3. Can you ever forgive oth- ers more than God has for- given you? Christmas Eve my wife cooked much of the day while I did my best to straighten up our garage and as usual I gave it a lick and a prom- ise of doing better later. It does look much better than it did. A garage is so easy to just open the door and put it in the garage and it doesn't take long until it needs anoth- er puff job. I call our car a rolling trash can. Our floorboards collect junk that never gets picked up until one or both of us gets to the point we are disgust- ed with it. The Lions Club is trying to sell a few brooms to see if there is a future in start- ing a project to gain funds for our treasury. It takes money to help others and money is hard to come by for a benev- olent organization such as the Lions. At present time we have 12 ( whisk brooms) which are nostalgic of the lit- tle brooms we used to use to clean debris from our floor boards. We are selling these for $ 6 each. We also have five soft sweep brooms which are available in pink or yel- low and they are selling for $ 8 a piece. Christmas Eve and Christ- mas Day were family days for us as one son and his wife were with us Christmas Eve and both sons and their fam- ilies were with us for dinner on Christmas day. There are many opinions about the birth of Jesus. the most important thing to re- member is you must have faith Jesus was truly the Son of God and He paid the price for our sins. It's okay to cele- brate His birth on Dec 25 but make sure you have reverent faith and adoration for Him every day. Our Sunday school visit- ed the people involved in the story of Jesus. We discussed how we should not get caught up in man's knowledge be- cause we might be wrong about times and places of the birth of Jesus. So wor- ship Him and keep your faith alive. As always go out into the world and be the bless- ing God needs us to be. A Rib Tickler A fter her husband was out late for a few nights, Eve was upset. "Are you out with oth- er women? " she asked. "Don't be unreasonable," re- plied Adam. "You're the only woman on earth." The quarrel ended when Adam fell asleep. When he awakened with pokes to the chest, he asked, "What are you doing? " "Counting your ribs! " Eve said. Blessings and Happy New Year from our church to yours! Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. Amy Melhiser, Secretary OTWELL WESLEYAN CHURCH 2277 N.
