Here it comes again, the start of another year. So ma- ny people see the beginning of the new year as a fresh start, a clean slate. The Apostle Paul gave us in- struction that should be our "go to" for a New Year's reso- lution. In Philippians 2:5 -8, he says, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Je- sus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." A humble obedience to the will of God, to be resolute to follow the example of Jesus and humbly say, "Not my will, but thine, be done." May this be the desire of our hearts every moment of every day in this new year. So many trials come into our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the King- dom of God, and His righteous- ness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that passes all understanding—He is in con- trol. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. To see Your power and Glory. Be - cause your loving kindness is better than life my lips will praise you. So, I will Bless you as long as I live, I will lift up my hands in your name. My Soul is satisfied with marrow and fatness and my mouth of- fers praises with joyful lips" (Psalm 63:1-5). God Bless. Michael (Mike) Punke, Pastor SPURGEON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 11505 N. And the corresponding truth is that you may need them as well"—John Blase. What are the top four rea- sons you either go to church or don't go? How does knowing "someone may need you there" make you feel about meeting together?
