Chargers lose at 10-way last weekend By Matthew Haycraft The Pike Central Charger wrestling team lost at the 10 -way this last week on Fri- day, December 17 and Satur- day, December 18 at Harri- son High School in Evans- ville. This places the Charger wrestling team at 5 -18 for the season this far. Coach Jorden Froderman said, "We are going through some growing pains right now as a program. We have a lot of young wrestlers wrestling varsity right now due to a variety of reasons. I really feel that our fresh- men and sophomores are getting very valuable time on the mat. We just had our fourth meet of the year and I can tell that we have come a very long way from the first meet. While the results of the team score are not where we want it, we have a few bright spots and a few guys hanging around .500." "Jon Cannon current- ly has a 19 -4 record, ten of which have been first peri- od pins. Corey Goeppner al- so notched a 19 -4 record, al- so with ten first period pins. Griffin Boyd won his weight class at the Harrison 10 -way this past weekend, his over- all record on the year is 13- 2. Ryan Gladish currently has a 12-11 record and has shown very good leader- ship this year so far. Jackson Stuckey has a 12-10 record. Konner Simmons has a 7-12 record so far and has shown a lot of improvement over the course of the year. I al- so give a shout out to Kylee Baker, Justin Spinks, Aid- en McGiffin, Riley Mosby and Jayden Bolin, all have shown improvement from the first meet of the year."
