With time still left in the game, the Chargers contin- ued their battle of holding the Warriors in place. At the end of the third quarter, with on- ly seconds left on the board, Frasure scored another touch- down for the Chargers, fol- lowed by a punt, declared no good by the refs, leaving the score at 35 -13. The Chargers had success- fully held North Knox score- less through the third quarter. Excitement began to build on the field and in the stands as Pike Central charged back on the field for the fourth quarter. They managed to hold North Knox off most of the quarter, only letting them score one touchdown, fol- lowed by the PAT. However, with 3:46 on the scoreboard, the unthinkable happened, Frasure received the ball on a kickoff and carried it 78 yards for a touchdown, leaving the score at the end of the game at 41-20. The Chargers may have lost, but they did not do it willingly. Head Coach Kelly Brash- er said, "First of all, North Knox, they're an excellent football team, they ran that 1930's power six football, and they are so well-coached and well-versed. Their backs run so hard, their linemen come off the ball fast and hard and just do a great job of blocking." "I thought basically all night, defensively, we were in the right position. But some- times you run into football teams that are just bigger, faster, stronger and better than you. And that's what we ran into tonight, on both sides of the ball. I can live with that because I know that our kids gave everything they had to- night." Passing: Meadows had 0 -1 for 0 yards. Rushing: Frasure had 17 carries for a total of 105 yards with two touchdowns; How- ald had 20 carries for a to- tal of 84 yards; junior Jagar Dent had three carries for a total of five yards; Meadows had three carries for a total of seven yards. Defense: sophomore Mat- thew Hayes had two forced fumbles and one credited recovery; freshman Justin Spinks had a fumble recovery; junior Corey Goeppner had a fumble recovery; Meadows had one interception return for 17 yards. Pike Central is now 1-3 overall and 0 -2 in the confer- ence, making the seventh in the PAC.
