GREAT FOOD NOSTALGIA & DESSERTS Take a stroll down Abbey Road CLOG THE PATOKA fills river with great times July 10 Clog the Patoka is set for Saturday, July 10. The event grew from a few bud- dies who liked to float down the Patoka River in kayaks to more than 1,100 peo- ple in just a couple of years. It sur vived COVID and extremely low water levels last year as more than 600 showed up. It was down from its peak in 2019, when 1,119 people showed up in any and ev- er ything that would float, and made their way down the six-mile float from Sur vant to the Riverside Park in Winslow. There were giant inflatable pink flamingos and a floating 12-person pizza to jon boats making the trip. This year's event, following a year of being cooped up by COVID, could be even bigger. 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION blasts off for another year in Otwell July 2 – July 4 The Jefferson Township Fourth of July Celebration in Otwell is set to return on July 2, 3 and 4, after a year's hiatus due to COVID-19. Andrew Houtch said the festival plans to have all the main events it's been known for since the 1950s. There will be truck and tractor pulls on Friday and Saturday, as well as Fire- cracker pageants, carnival rides and a fireworks display on the Fourth. The parade is set for Saturday morn- ing, following by fried and BBQ chicken dinners, along with homemade ice cream. Other events will include baby con- tests and a pedal tractor pull. Houtch said there is some interest in the community to have a three-on-three basketball tourney and a flag football tourney, as well as their volleyball tour- ney. But they haven't finalized those yet. Petersburg P I K E C O U N T Y, I N D I A N A Great Food, Unique Shopping & More 14 Backyard Adventures 2021 14 Backyard Adventures 2021
