BARRY MARTIN DORSEY Dr. Barry Martin Dorsey, age 78, passed away unex- pectedly January 4, 2021 at his home in Martinsville, VA. Born in Gaston County on October 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Bob Dorsey Jr. and Margaret Camp Dorsey. Dr. Dorsey is survived by his sister, Jeanne Dorsey Burks of Mooresville, NC. A small graveside ser- vice was held, January 18, 2021 at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby, NC. Rev. Robert Raynor, Rev. Dale Byrd, and Rev. Leland Kerr officiated. At a later date, a larger memorial service will be held in Martinsville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memo- rial donations may be made to any of the multiple uni- versities, churches, or com- munity organizations where Barry served. WILLIAMS Ruth F. Williams, 95, died January 13, 2021 at Caromont Health in Gastonia. A native of Oconee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Era Teat Freeman. LARNCE HUBERT RADFORD Larnce Hubert Radford, 92, of Cliffside, passed away January 14, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland Hospital. He was the son of the late Lonzo and Katie Wilkie Radford. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ozella Scruggs Radford, four brothers; Earnest Radford (Estelle), George Radford (Edith), James Radford (Betty), Leon Radford and one sister Helen Radford. He is survived by one daughter, Janet Radford Solomon, two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers; Alton Radford (Judy) and Steve Radford (Diane), one sister Margaret Jolly (Caroll), one son in law Wayne Solomon. Susan was born February 23, 1951 in Rutherford County to the late Jim Green and Rosalee Hunsinger Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Don and Billy Green; three sisters, Chris Green, Margie Davis and Shirley Fish. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rick Blanton (Joy) of Ellenboro and daughter, Sharon Dobbins (Greg) of Spindale; brother, Jack Green of Forest City; three sisters, Helen Russ of Bostic, Judy Keck and Deb Wood both of Forest City. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and a great- granddaughter. A private graveside ser- vice was conducted for the family. She is survived by her two children, Jeff Ward (Teresa) of Grover, NC, and Renee Ward of Grover, NC, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three broth- ers, Wade Ward (Frances) of Waco, NC, Dean Ward (Joyce) of Waco, NC, and Darrell Ward of Waco, NC, and four sisters, Diana "Skip" Wilson (Harold) of Shelby, NC, Jackie "Penny" Peterson (Edward) of Shelby, NC, Sandy Martin (Don) of Grover, NC, and Linda Lundy of Cambridge, MN. Born August 15, 1943 in Cleveland County, Wanda was the daughter of the late Clyde and Judy Blanton Stroup and was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Webb Ward, and a brother, Donald Stroup. In addi- tion to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Pittman Thrift, one sister, Emma Jean Roberson and one son-in- law Phillip Dean Beaver. Mae is survived by her three children, one daughter Wanda Beaver of Shelby, two sons; Randy Thrift and wife JoAnn of Cherryville, Don Thrift and wife Lisa of Shelby as well as seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. GRACE EDNA WILLIS SIMPSON Grace Edna Willis Simpson, 73, of Hickory, passed away January 10, 2021 at Caldwell County Hospice in Lenoir, NC. Born April 26, 1947 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Flay Alexander Willis and Edna Wright Willis. She was a beautiful lady and is survived by a loving family. William Guy Hall, Jr., passed away at the age of 92, peacefully at his home in Cherryville, NC on Friday, January 8, 2021. He was born February 14, 1928, in Mecklenburg County to the late William Guy Sr. and Jewel Ellen Fowler Hall. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Octie E. Foster Hall; and son, William Guy Hall III. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mildred Dellinger Conner Hall; daughter, Lois Melinda Hall Williams; one granddaugh- ter; two grandsons; and a multitude of adoring step children and step grandchil- dren. Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Army. In WWII and in two Campaigns of the Vietnam Wars, as a Military Intelligence Specialist where he earned numerous rib- bons and medals.
