Harriette was born January 25, 1936 in Cleveland County to the late Edley "O.B." Ruppe and Irene Fowler Ruppe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty- three years, W.R. Cook; brother, Henry Ruppe; three sisters, Dorothy Cash, Faye Willis, Juanita Hawkins and granddaughter, Amita Burgess Dobbins. Those left to cherish her memory include her daugh- ter, Donna Burgess (Larry) of Ellenboro; son, Allen Peskopos of Kennesaw, Georgia; brothers, Jerry Ruppe of Boiling Springs, NC and Johnny Ruppe (Blanche) of Polkville and a sister, Mamie Lackey (Bill) of Polkville; and five grandchil- dren, Necia Scruggs, Kasi Wardlaw, Jeremy Gipson, Jeff Burgess, Charles Burgess and five great- grandchildren. The funeral service was held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bruce Duncan officiating. Interment followed in the Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery. CARROLL "EDDIE" EDWIN TOWERY Carroll "Eddie" Edwin Towery, 74, of Cherryville, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County, on September 17, 1946, he was a son of the late Lee Roy Towery and Vivian Nevert Lackey Towery. Mr. Towery served our country in the US Army during Vietnam. Born in Catawba County, on June 1, 1973, she was a daughter of the Steve Davis and Artie Cook Davis. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of five years, Mikle David Ruppe; two stepsons, Mikle David Ruppe, Jr. of Sawmills and Justin Edward Ruppe of Burke County; brother, Michael Davis of Vale; two sisters, Elaine Buff and Scottie Matthews both of Vale; and two step- grandchildren, Maddix and Korbin Ruppe.
