Ellen was born August 2, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Barney Paris and Florence Lackey Peeler. She was preceded in death by her husband William Andrew Powell and brothers B.P. Peeler Jr. of Belwood, NC and Dr. Lackey B Peeler of Charlotte, NC. She is survived by her son William Andrew (Andy) Powell, Jr. and wife Debbie of Belwood; two grandchil- dren, Drew Powell (Jodi) of Belwood and Katie Powell Belflower (Jeff) of Bostic; three great-grandchildren, Luke and Lila Powell, Henry Belflower; and a dear sister, Coye M. BETTY BOWEN HEMMINGSEN MARTIN Betty Bowen Hemmingsen Martin, 90, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at her daughter's home in Conway, SC. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Woodrow W. and Lela Queen Bowen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald L. Hemmingsen; and second husband, Charles H. Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila H. Yates and husband James; son, David L. Hemmingsen and wife Rilla; stepson, Shawn Martin and wife Leondra; stepdaughter, Kimberly Jessup; brother, Ron Queen and wife Sandra; four grand- children; four stepgrandchil- dren; and eight great grand- children. Mabel was born June 12, 1926 in Rutherford County to the late George Miller Watson and Bethney Iowa Morgan Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seven- ty years, Howard "Homer" Wall; brothers, George B. Watson, Osburn R. Watson, John Lee Watson, Thomas Earl Watson and Benjamin Douglas Watson; sis- ters, Lillie Blanton Lawing, Frances Watson Laughter, Odessa Watson Champion; and daughter-in-law, Betty Wall. She was born on January 2, 1954 in Cleveland County to the late Lucinda Webber. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandpar- ents, Eugene and Lillie Mae Webber. KAY BYERS WILSON Kay Byers Wilson, 69, of Ellenboro, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at her daughter's home. Born in Rutherford County, NC on January 9, 1951, she was the daughter of the late T.P. Byers and Willie Mae Beaver Byers. In addition to her par- ents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rusty Wilson and a son, Jason Byers. DONALD "DONNIE" CHESTER CONNER, JR. Donald "Donnie" Chester Conner, Jr. 65 of Kings Mountain passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Peak Resources, Shelby. He was a life long resident of Kings Mountain and son of the late Donald, Sr. and Betty Conner. Mr. Conner served our country in the United States Army. He is predeceased by brother, Scott. She was the youngest sis- ter to Joseph, Paul, Grace and Natalie born January 3, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Eli and Mary Vukovich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest R. Drumheller Sr. Elsa is survived by her daughter Cynthia Petri, daughter and son-in-law Mary & Ronald Romich, son and daughter-in-law F. Richard and Tara Drumheller Jr, and daughter Brenda Wagner; loving grandchil- dren Amanda Lane, Shannon Romich, H. Jacob Petri IV, Tiffany Romich, Courtney Hilbert, Brittany Quinley, Eric and Scott Drumheller; precious great grandchil- dren Codi, Sydney, Landon, Thai, Xavier, Giana, Lillian, Connor, Colton, Cooper, Liam, Paxton, Bennett and Weston; and her sister Grace.
