Great Selection Great Selection Don Gibson performances to go 'on the road' The Don Gibson Theatre (DGT) is taking its shows on the road. Four upcoming performances are going to be held at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds (1751 E. Marion St., Shelby) instead of at the iconic 400-seat venue. "While we are sorry not to be able to host these performances in our own facility, we are grateful that we will still be able to present these fine perform- ers to our dedicated audiences," says DGT Executive Director Stan Lowery. "Tickets will be honored for those who have already purchased them," says Lowery. "Ticket hold- ers from the first six rows will be allowed to enter the fairground stadium at 6 p.m. for priority parking. All others can enter the stadium at 6:30 p.m. Each person in the car will need a ticket." All cars will be socially distanced apart, and orga- nizers ask that participants stay in their car and listen on the car radio or sit in front of their car (as long as they can touch their car). "Participants should bring their own chairs if they want to sit outside their car," says Lowery. "We also ask that there be no big groups sitting together unless they are in the same family group." Performers and times for the drive-in series are: Rhonda Vincent - August 21, 2020 Grammy-award-winning Vincent is known as the "Queen of Bluegrass" and has been named Female Vocalist of the year eight times by the International Bluegrass Music Association. "Rhonda's music incorporates savvy contemporary touches while drawing deeply from the authentic tra- ditions of classic bluegrass, with a flawless band that can execute styles ranging from break-neck instru- mentals to heart-wrenching ballads," according to the DGT website. The Cleverlys - August 28, 2020 The Cleverlys are a one-of-a-kind comedy/music blend coming from the remote part of the Ozark Mountains, near Cane Spur, AR. Digger Cleverly, along with his nephews Ricky Lloyd, Sock, DVD and Cub, make up The Cleverlys. They have traveled throughout the United States, performing at music venues and some of the nation's largest festivals. Doug Stone - August 29, 2020. Stone is a Grammy-nominated songwriter with eight #1 hits and 15 top-five hits to his name. Stone found his mark in music as a lonesome baritone bal- ladeer, although he was very adept at hard up-tempo country. He debuted in 1990 with the single "I'd Be Better Off (In a Pine Box)," the first release from his 1990 self-titled debut album. He is known for his neo- traditionalist country sound and his ballads. Henry Cho - August 29, 2020. Cho was the keynote entertainer for the 59th Annual Radio & Television Correspondents' Dinner and has worked extensively with Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Willie Nelson, Carrie Underwood and many others. His clean comedy is so versatile that he can headline Vegas and then tour with Christian artist Michael W. Smith. All performances will begin at 8 p.m. For more information, visit the DGT website at www.dongibson- theater.com or call the box office at 704-487-8114.
