ALLEN CALDWELL PEACE Allen Caldwell Peace, 89, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Spartanburg County SC, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Bessie Morris Peace. He served his country faithfully from 1951- 1955, in the U.S Air Force, as a Radio Mechanic, serving during the Korean War. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin and Thomas Peace; and sisters, Hazel Morgan and Gaynell Scruggs. He is survived by his sons, William Peace and wife Judy of Lattimore, Chester Peace and wife Tammy of Waco, Joe Peace and wife Iris of Alaska, and Amos Peace and wife Collen of Waco; sisters, June Washburn and Patsy White, and Joyce Parker and husband A.C (Tommy); brother, Mitchell Peace all of Shelby; 18 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren. A graveside service was held at Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors. The Rev. Richard Stroup officiating. Mills enjoyed and received grati- HERMAN ELEXIS HOPPER Mr. Herman Elexis Hopper, 59, of 1809 Kingston Road Kingstown, NC passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on April 5, 1961 to Emma Thurman Hopper and the late William Hopper. Herman was employed with ADC Metal Finishing in York, SC. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Jacques McIntyre. He leaves to cherish fond memories to his mother, Emma T. BRENDA KAY McMULLEN Brenda Kay McMullen, 70, of Shelby, NC, passed away on July 21, 2020 at Atrium Health in Shelby, NC. She was born in Pratt, Kansas, to the late George Elwyn and Lola Norrida Davis McMullen and was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Farris and a nephew, George Michael Eberwein. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on July 23, 1946 to the late Hubert Marable and Ruth Elmore Marable. "LB" as he was known by many was a Cleveland High School graduate where he was an outstanding football player earning a scholar- ship to attend St. Augustine College. Returning to Shelby, he was employed with J P Stevens before his employment with Carolina Freight where he worked his way up to line driver before retiring after a 25 year career. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Marable and a brother, Bobby Marable. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife on 48 years, Brenda B. Marable; his sons, Barry Leon Marable, Larry Scott Marable (Denise) both of Shelby, Tyrone Marable of Charlotte, NC, Jimmy Marable of Shelby and Dean Marable of the home; a brother, Joseph Marable of Frisco, TX; six grand- children; six great-grand- children; Cherita Woods, Jeremy Marable (Precious), Laturie Marable, Whitney Woods, Michael Marable and Katina Marable; broth- ers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Johnny Browner, Mary Browner, Dr. W. S. Browner (Patricia), George Borders (Sherea) and Mary Marable and a host of nieces, neph- ews, other relatives and friends. ANDRE' DWAYNE MINTZ Andre' Dwayne Mintz, affectionately known as "Huey" to family, followed his twin sister and was born to the late Charlie and Nancy Mintz on May 22, 1970. Andre' departed this earth- ly life on July 16, 2020 at Advent Health Palm Coast, FL after a courageous battle against COVID19. Andre' attended Crest High School in Shelby, NC. He loved his Crest Chargers and was a proud member fication from his work, he loved to stay active until his stroke. Mills never retired, he worked consistently for 71 years. He worked as the cost accountant for Fiber Industries, delivered for Cleveland Home Health and for the last 20 years, for Holly's Flowers and Cline's Nursery. In addition to his parents, Mills is preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Mills devotion began at home with his son, David Mills Cline III of Shelby and daughter Leslie Kathryn Cline of Shelby, of whom he was so proud. Former wife, Amanda Francis Cline of Shelby also survives him. A private graveside service was held at New Prospect Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. He was born in Cabarrus County, NC on July 13, 1965 to James Calvin Stanback and the late Susan Odessa Reid Bolder. The son of James Calvin Stanback and the late Susan Odessa Reid Bolder, he was born on July 13, 1965 in Concord, NC. Calvin was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Odessa Reid Bolder and daughter Faith Odessa Reid. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cynthia Brown Reid; father, James Calvin Stanback of Kannapolis, NC; sisters Marla P. KATHY COLEEN HOUSER PROPST Kathy Coleen Houser Propst, 67, of Zur Leonard Road, Vale, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Catawba Valley Medical Center, Hickory. Born in Cleveland County, on July 22, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Newland Lester Houser and Maggie Craig Houser. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Alvin Propst; three brothers, Dale Houser, James Houser and Perry Houser; and a sister, Eva Davis. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Propst of Claremont and William Propst of Vale; daugh- ter, Tennille Costner of Cherryville, brother, Donald Houser of Mt. A wonder- ful father to his children Neil (Patty) Madsen of Dublin, OH, Ann Pickett of Washington DC, Karin (Pete) Leonetti of Powell, OH, Irene (Gregg) Wright of Chesterland, OH and Paul (Kara) Madsen of Columbia, SC. Olaf is preceded in death by his son, Eric Madsen (Reta) of Chardon, OH. Olaf is also known as "Opa" to 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family will have a pri- vate service. Born in Nassau County, New York on April 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James Lee Padgett and Ruth Jean Diaz Padgett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a step mother, Dora Padgett; aunt and uncle, who raised her, Irene and Claude Henson; a sister, Maureen McGee.
