Blue Ridge Music Trails Welcomes Clear Mountain View Music Festival The overwhelming support of the Clear Mountain View Music Festival and other events held at Elliott Family Farms in Lawndale has been humbling. The Clear Mountain View Music Festival, scheduled for August 22-25, has been accepted as an event for the Blue Ridge Heritage Area Music Trail even though Cleveland County is not technically part of the National Heritage Area. Due to the legacy of Earl Scruggs and his life here, Cleveland County is seen as a heritage music area of importance. With the development of the Earl Scruggs Center and the Don Gibson Theatre, honoring the musical legends of the county, we are very lucky to be included in this phenomenal project. The Clear Mountain View Music Festival will be one of the events promoted on this statewide Music Trail that will eventually join with Virginia and West Virginia to create a huge regional trail. http://www.blueridgeheritage.com/heritage/music In addition to this promotion, the State of North Carolina Tourism Division is making a huge effort to promote the state's musical heritage and the contribution of music from the south to all genres of music across America. In 2014 there will be more efforts to promote outdoor festivals and concerts, as well as other music venues while telling the story of the Carolina's contribution to almost every genre of music known in America. The Clear Mountain View Music Festival line-up includes Grammy Award winners Steep Canyon Rangers, along with JB and the Moonshine Band, Acoustic Syndicate, Connor Christian & Southern Gothic, Sara Watkins, Steel Wheels, Danger Muffin, Sons of Bill, Larry Keel with Steve McMurry, the Corbitt Brothers, the Hunts and a dozen other regional artists. Rustic camping is available in the cane maze and around the grounds. Local hotels look forward to serving those who wish for less rustic accommodations.
