Claire Neal is the proud winner of a new bicycle. Her name was drawn from the perfect attendance students during the third grading period. Addison Wibbiler and Karmeron Schwindt show off the "oobleck" they made in Jackie Hen- son's class. Mrs. Garris had just read Dr. Seuss' "Batholomew and the Oobleck" to the students so they made some oobleck of their own. Retired teacher Nancy Garris visited the class- rooms and read to the students. Mrs. Shedd's stu- dents enjoyed hearing her story. Hadley Bell reads a book to her class about food allergies. CALENDER March 11-22 – I-READ 3 testing. I-READ is an evalua- tion of reading skills for stu- dents in third grade. March 18 -22 – Book Fair! Students will be visiting the Book Fair during their reg- ular library time. The book fair will be open for families during the evening of the Spring Program. March 21 – Spring Pro- gram for grades K-2. Per- formance times are as fol- lows: Kindergarten 6:30 p.m.; Grade 1 7 p.m.; Grade 2 7:30 p.m. Students should be in their classrooms 15 minutes before their program starts. Doors open at 6 March 25 -29 – Spring Break-School will not be in session! Have fun! Assorted fruits and veggies offered daily Dance Marathon Registration It is time to register for the 5th annual Pike Central Ri- ley Dance Marathon. The PCDM will take place on Satur- day, May 4, from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. and is open to all middle and high school students. Applications are available in the middle school front office, both cafeterias and from Mrs. Vinnedge or Mrs. Bohnert. All applications and $25 regis- tration fees are due to Mrs. Vinnedge on or before Thurs- day, April 18. 1st Annual Riley's Run The Student Government is hosting the 1st annual Ri- ley's Run on Saturday, April 20. This is a 5K Color Run or a 3K Walk with Your Dog. Award will be given for the top runners in each category. The race will take place at Pride's Creek. Registrations and $20 fee should be received by March 30 to reserve a T-shirt. All registrations and fees received after this date will not guarantee a T-shirt.
