The pro- fessors are always very nice and welcoming, and they want me to succeed," said Croak about OCU." She played first base for the Chargers, but as an Oak, she is trying out a new posi- tion, second base. "My bat- ting average was something that they liked about me. I try my best in my academ- ics," she said regarding why OCU was interested in her. For her college career, Croak is confident that her team will succeed, and add- ed that the Lady Oaks have many versatile players who will move around the field. "I think talent-wise, we are showing out," added Croak. At Oakland City, she is studying Sports Administra- tion. She did not look deep into other schools when deciding on a college, and she added that OCU's busi- ness department had what she was looking for. Croak thinks that she made a great decision when it comes to choosing Oakland City. She will remember ad- vice from previous coaches when stepping out onto that college field. "You always give 110 per- cent because that is expect- ed at the college level, and no one tells you to do that, you just have to know to do it," said Croak. When it comes to person- al goals, she wants to stay on the Dean's List. She added, "Softball wise, I just think I want to enjoy my time, win and have fun." CROAK Continued from page 1 were Jackson Stuckey (160 lbs) and Konner Simmons (220 lbs). With a winning re- cord was Ryan Gladish (117 lbs), who was 3-2 on the day. "Corey Goeppner had a monster day, pinning ev- eryone. He showed a lot of heart and determination this weekend. Boyd had a breakout day, which he re- ally needed. I feel this will set the tone for the rest of his season," said Thompson. He added, "Marchi- no could've been 5 -0, but wrestled a different weight against South Spencer to wrestle another match. Even though he lost, he showed great leadership stepping up for the team." "We will get back to prac- tice this week with the hopes to continue the posi- tive momentum we built this weekend." The Chargers travel to Gibson Southern on Satur- day for the eight-team Titan Duals. Wrestling begins at 10 a.m. INVITE Continued from page 1 Three wrestlers won their weight classes at the Charger Invitational Middle School Wrestling Tour- ney on Saturday.
