Bailey, 38, of Princeton, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at his home in Princeton. He was born on Decem- ber 8, 1980, in Evansville, to James and Pam (Phillips) Bailey. He graduated from Wood Memorial High School in 1999, then went on to grad- uate with an associate de- gree from V.U. He was the office manager at County Seat Veterinary Hospital in Princeton, which is operat- ed by his wife, Sarah Stew- art Bailey. He was a member of the Oakland City Church of the Nazarene. He was a ham radio opera- tor, and enjoyed working on car stereos and electronics. He also built computers. He was a patient and loving fa- ther, and he also loved an- imals. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Stewart Bailey, of Princeton; daughter, Grace- lynn Bailey; parents, James and Pam Bailey, of Francis- co; two brothers, Steven ( Jodie) Bailey, of Oakland City, and Neal (Leah) Bai- ley, of Patoka; grandfather, Eugene Phillips, of Francis- co; mother-in-law, Gail Stew- art, of Princeton; brother-in- law, Levi (Krystal) Stewart, of Princeton; grandmother- in-law, Phyllis Hensley, of Princeton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gloria Phillips, David Bailey and Barbara Ward; and his fa- ther-in-law, Steven Stewart. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Colvin Funer- al Home in Princeton, with Rev. Darin Nossett officiat- ing. LARRY GILBERT FALLS Larry Gilbert Falls, 77, of Oakland City, entered rest on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at his home. He was born on Feb. 13, 1941, in Princeton, to Gil- bert and Dona (Morton) Falls. He served in the United States Navy from June 23, 1960, to April 14, 1964. He was a member of the American Legion Post #256 in Oakland City, where he proudly served as Post Com- mander, 1st Vice-Command- er, and Adjutant over the past 50 years and was a past member of SAL. He was also was given an Honorary Lifetime Mem- bership at Oakland City American Legion. He was a member of the VFW #1147 in Princeton. He also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagle Aerie #4288 in Oakland City, and mem- ber of NR A. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. More than any- thing, he was a true patriot. He loved his country and our GORDON NANCE Gordon Nance, 84, a long- time resident of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Janu- ary 15, 2019, at I.U. Method- ist Hospital after a brief ill- ness. He was born June 30, 1934, in Pike County, to the late Roscoe and Elzadie (Purl) Nance. Following his graduation from Otwell High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Frieda (Sanders) on Au- gust 31, 1957, and they relo- cated to Greenfield in 1957 to raise their family. Prior to his retirement in 1994, Gor- don was a supervisor for the Ford Motor Company, Indi- anapolis. He never knew a strang- er and was always active. He was a 50 -plus year, 32nd Degree Master Mason and member of the F&AM 121 Masonic Lodge in Peters- burg, and the Murat Shrine, Indianapolis. Gordon was the past president of the Greenfield Jaycee's and for- mer Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, Greenfield. He is survived by his sons, Mark (Dana) Nance, of Greenfield, and Jeff (Deanna) Nance, of Peters- burg; grandchildren, Tom- my (Laura) Nance, Hannah (Adrian) Nance-McDon- ald, Bryanna (Michael) Gar- ner and Jonathan (Britney) Nance; and great-grandchil- dren, Easton, Harper and El- sa Mae. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frieda, in 2001; and siblings, Maurice, Paul, Lucille and Geraldine. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Stillinger Fam- ily Funeral Home in Green- field, with burial immediate- ly following at Park Ceme- tery, Greenfield. LINDA LOU MITCHELL Linda Lou Mitchell, 76, of Petersburg, entered into rest at 6:35 a.m. at Jasper Memo- rial Hospital on Wednesday January 16, 2019. She was born in Peters- burg on February 12, 1942, to Stella West and Dale Iv- ers. She graduated from Pe- tersburg High School in 1960. She was a homemak- er, who enjoyed knitting and sewing. She served as a troop leader for Girl Scouts and a den mother for Cub Scouts. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxil- iary and the Women of the Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping at Prides Creek Park with friends and family in the 70s, going to the Indianap- olis 500, playing Bingo, va- cationing in Tennessee and playing cards with the ladies at the VFW. She is survived by her hus- band, Fred "Tubb" Mitch- ell; daughter, Libby Mitch- ell; son, Joe Mitchell; grand- daughter, Amber Mitchell; great-granddaughters, Ad- dison, Kiki, Geneva and Ro- slyn; brother, Dave West; sister, Sandy Loveless; and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Pastor Paul Newton officiat- ing. WHITEHEAD Rodney D. Whitehead, 64, of Otwell, passed away at 11:14 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan- uary 15, 2019, in Otwell. He was born in Washing- ton on August 12, 1954, to William and Juanita (Burch) Whitehead. He graduated from Otwell High School in 1972 and had retired from Peabody Coal Company. He was a member of the Oak- land City Golf Club, was an avid golfer, hunter and loved all dogs, especially basset hounds. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie (Arnold) White- head, of Haubstadt, whom he married October 22, 2018; mother, Juanita Whitehead, of Otwell; three daughters, Chastity (Neil) Broeker, of Jasper, Amber ( Jason) Bul- mer, of New Castle, and Er- ika Whitehead, of Peters- burg; brother, James White- head, of Evansville; step- daughter, Heather (Bryan) Faith, of Washington; Pau- la (Alex Kaufman) Goeb- el, of Wadesville, and Ve- ronica (Craig) Reynolds, of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchil- dren; two nieces; one great- niece and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, William White- head; wife of twenty-five years, M. June (Grannon) Whitehead, who passed away on April 1, 2018. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Janu- ary 26, 2019, at Ed Lee Mor- tuary Downtown Chapel in Washington, with Pastor Da- vid Whitehead officiating. DAREN THOMAS EVERET T Daren Thomas Everett, 52, of Fort Branch, former- ly of Stanford, Ky., passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at his residence. He was born Friday, De- cember 30, 1966, in Frank- lin, the son of the late Rob- ert D. and Louise Yocum Ev- erett. He was a carpenter and a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast. He was very tal- ented at building things. Emerson, 76, of Oakland City, formerly of Francisco, entered rest on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. He was born on Sept. 16, 1942, in Arkansas. He retired from Whirl- pool Corporation after sev- eral years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (David) Emerson-Agee, of Evans- ville; sons, Neal (Kelly) Emerson, of Princeton, and Kevin (Nancy) Emerson, of Snellville, Ga; father, Leon Emerson, of Princeton; a sis- ter, Darlene Jones, of Fran- cisco; three great-grandchil- dren; and several nieces and nephews. He was born on Oct. 12, 1951, in Grant Coun- ty, to Redmond and Irene (Brown) Tooley. He was retired from Whirlpool Corporation af- ter 40 year as a Journey- man Millwright. He was member of IUE-CWA and Local 808, and Oakland City American Legion Post #256 for 28 years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue (Bise) Tooley; son, Brian (Dawn) Tooley, of Francis- co; granddaughters, Alli- son Jones, of Big Springs, Texas, and Makenzie Tool- ey, of Oakland City; sis- ters, Jessie (Gary) Bise, of Oakland City, and Liz (Kin) Ward, of Jasper; brothers, Brian Tooley, of Jasper, Benny (Leah) Tooley, of Otwell, and Bil- ly (Tina) Tooley, of Hunt- ingburg; and brother-in- law, Robert (Terry) Bise, of Oakland City.
