Students studied plant parts, searched for cotton seeds from the split open boles and studied how the cotton industry impact- ed economic development in the United States. We also managed to find and watch an old black and white video of how cotton used to be picked! Student teacher, Ms. Lauren Luff, has Tayven Scales complete a problem on the board. Firth grade students review sight words on the interactive board. Pictured are: Jordan Heowener and Autumn Satterfield. Fifth grade students take a break to play edu- cational games on their Chromebooks. Prodigy, Spelling City, SumDog, Virtual Labs, etc. Fifth grade students chose 10 to 15 words from their spelling and vocabulary list from the story, "The Midnight Ride." They then drew pictures of each word to show that they understood the meaning of each word.
