Pike Central FACS Class Baby Flour Project Some of the sixth grade students asked Mrs. Cobo to do the baby flour project for their FACS class. Mrs. Cobo was pleased that stu- dents took the initiative and responsibility of their own learning and allowed the students to research and design the project. Then she offered it voluntarily to her FACS students. A fter only a few days some of her students told her how difficult and tiring it was to carry a baby the whole time. One of them stopped participating in the middle of the week and told Mrs. Cobo "having a baby is very hard. I don't think I can do this until I am way old! " Stu- dents are learning about par- enting, budgeting and the struggles of being responsi- ble for a baby at the stage in life when they are still teen- agers, haven't completed their studies and don't have financial independence.
