So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. Sunday morning worship service at 10 a.m.; Sunday school classes at 10 :45 a.m.; Tuesday night, prayer at 7 p.m. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begot- ten Son, that whosoever be- lieves in Him should not per- ish but have everlasting life" ( John 3:16). Words from God's Holy Bi- ble that truly are truth. If you have never experienced this love then you have missed out on a life that is truly worth liv- ing. In this life, you will find love, joy and peace that pass- es our understanding of our carnal mind, but our hearts feel and know. If He is not Lord of your life, there is no better time than now to make it happen. Remember your family and friends for salvation. In Daniel 8:24,25 —The prophet speaks of the an- ti-christ. His power will be mighty, he'll cause people to prosper and "shall de- stroy the mighty and the holy people." Just as when Hitler took over Germany, it wasn't do- ne all at once. It was a grad- ual thing. For a while he looked like the answer to all their problems. So shall it be when the anti arises. Rabbi Schneider put it this way, "Just as a frog is put in warm water (which is pleasant) but then the heat is turned up. He has no idea he is being destroyed." Such is our society today. Be careful of picking the path that is comfortable, it may lead to a boiling pot. Ron Vickers, Pastor Elaine Young, Report- er, 1-812-749 -1122 (leave a message and number). MAIN STREET PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 10th and Main Streets, Petersburg 812-354-6844 Sunday worship 10 :30 a.m.; Youth group Monday evening at 6 p.m. Come vis- it us, our doors are always open to you. The perks of alone time "Only those who learn to live with loneliness can come to know themselves and life," said poet Carl Sandburg. He described walking in nature, listen- ing to the "sounds of loneli- ness" and wondering, "Who are you, Sandburg? Where have you been, and where are you going? " Jesus also values alone time with God in nature. He often withdrew to pray after being with crowds of people and his disciples. Spending one-on-one time with God helps us find and focus on his mission for our lives. He also uses it to strengthen us for carrying out his impor- tant work.
