A-8 Local Wednesday, August 22, 2018 The Press-Dispatch VFW Fun Day was something for everyone Fourteen vendors had their wares and information on display in the Coleman- Stewart Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3587 hall this past Saturday. Lunch was served by the VFW Auxiliary, plus there was a large bake sale. A silent auction, with about two dozen items for men, women and youngsters alike, was part of the vendor fair located in the hall ad- joining 12th Street. A large variety of household items, new bikes, flags, wall deco- rations, bath items, cosmet- ics and flower arrangements were a few of the donated si- lent auction offerings. A special thanks to Debby Pasley, Trish Minnis, Sheila Heiple, Shawna Popp, Linda Miley, Kathy Freeland, Jes- sica Herren, Mia Martinez, DR Minnis, Todd Pasley, Gary Heiple, Margie Wright, Noah Willis, Clayton Grid- er, Tony Traylor, Judy Kreig and Blake Helbrecht for or- ganizing and helping with the event. Pasley set up the vendor fair and VFW Aux- iliary members handled the kids' games, dunking booth, bake sale and silent auction. They also served up the food and fun for a nice crowd that enjoyed a summer af- ternoon at the VFW. Greg Coleman, along with Pres- ton Johnson and others, took the plunge in the dunking booth a bunch of times on what turned out to be a nice day for outdoor activities.
