Condolences may be shared with the family online at: nassandson.com. ROBERT W. MCCARTER Robert W. McCarter, 83, of Wheatland, passed away in Vincennes on April 16, 2018. He was born January 4, 1935, in Vincennes, to Rus- sell and Cora McCarter. He spent his life farming and logging, loved mush- room hunting, fishing, and riding his Kubota with his dog, Missy. He is survived by his sons, Jim ( Joyce) McCar- ter, of Wheatland, Donnie McCarter, of Wheatland, and David (Becky) McCa- rter, of Wheatland; daugh- ter, Brenda (Harold) Hill, of Wheatland; eight grand- children; 13 great-grandchil- dren; brothers, Jack McCa- rter, of Bicknell, and Mac McCarter, of Paxton, Ind.; sisters, Helen McCord, of Vincennes, and Grace Gil- bert, of Vincennes; and sev- eral nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence McCarter, whom he married on May 23, 1957; two great-grand- children; four brothers; and his parents. Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Pastor Sam McCord offici- ating. Burial will follow in MICHAEL E. ALLEN Michael E. Allen, 65, of Velpen, passed away on Sat- urday, April 21, 2018, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born December 22, 1952, in Washington, to Cecil and Vacil Oneeda (Sul- livan) Allen. He was a railroad work- er for A.W.&W. Railways, where he retired in 2010. He enjoyed antiques and guns, and was a member of the Petersburg V.F.W., Winslow American Legion, and Winslow Fraternal Or- der of Eagles. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. He is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Rita) Allen, of Loogootee, and Charles R. Allen, of Pe- tersburg; one sister, Bev- erly (Charles) Russell, of Petersburg; two nephews, Jim ( Wanda) Goodpasture and Mark Goodpasture, both of Petersburg; and a great-nephew and great- niece, Lucas Goodpasture and Cheyanne Goodpasture, both of Petersburg. She enjoyed spending time with family, living in Florida during retirement, and listening to bluegrass and gospel music. She al- so enjoyed playing standup bass and watching Jimmy Swaggart.
