She plans to attend USI and study nursing. Dur- ing her years at PCHS, she has been involved with Na- tional Honor Society, FCA, BPA, Swing Choir and the musicals, among other things. Taylor Deffendoll WINSLOW HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP Taylor Deffendoll, the daughter of Jeremy and Jen- nifer Deffendoll, is the re- cipient of the Winslow High School Alumni Association Scholarship. She will attend Oakland City University and study criminal justice. As a high school student, she has participated in Nation- al Honor Society, Student Government and Key Club, among other things. Courtney Frederick PIKE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP Courtney Frederick, daughter of Brent Frederick and Joanna Cochren, is the recipient of the Pike Cen- tral High School Scholar- ship. She will attend Indiana University to study chemis- try on her way to becoming a doctor. She has been in- volved with Spanish Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, as well as March- ing Band and Pep Band. Jordan Montgomery OTWELL SCHOOL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP Jordan Montgomery, the daughter of Chad and An- gela Montgomery, is the re- cipient of the Otwell School Alumni Scholarship. She intends to pursue an under- grad degree in human biolo- gy at Indiana University and go on to become an anesthe- siologist. During her high school career, she has been involved in National Honor Society, Key Club and Stu- dent Government. She is al- so a softball player. Faryn Hensler MARION AND MARTHA KLIPSCH SCHOLARSHIP Faryn Hensler, the daugh- ter of Amber and Tom Hensler, is the recipient of the Marion and Martha Klipsch Scholarship. She will attend Indiana Univer- sity, where she will major in neuroscience as she pur- sues her goal of becoming a neurologist. During high school, she has participated in National Honor Society, Key Club and was a student researcher with Memorial Hospital. She has also been active in many areas of band throughout high school. Natalie Burkhart DR. AND MRS. WILLIAM WEATHERS-BETTY WYATT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Natalie Burkhart, the re- cipient of the Weathers-Wy- att Memorial Scholarship, is the daughter of Joe and Dalene Burkhart, of Peters- burg. She will attend the University of Southern In- diana and major in business and accounting with the goal of becoming a CPA. She par- ticipated in National Honor Society, Key Club, Student Government, basketball, vol- leyball and golf during her high school years. Quade Claridge WINSLOW EAGLES SCHOLARSHIP Quade Claridge, son of Cliff and Melissa Claridge, of Stendal, is the recipient of the Winslow Eagles Scholar- ship. He will attend Oakland City University and study bi- ology with a goal of becom- ing a chiropractor. Dur- ing his high school years, he was involved in Nation- al Honor Society, Key Club, Peer Tutoring, soccer and baseball. Alexis Halbrader PIKE OPTIMISTS/ LAWRELL HILGEMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Alexis Halbrader, daugh- ter of Krista and Randy Hal- brader, is the recipient of the Pike Optimists/Lawrell Hilgeman Memorial Schol- arship. She is undecided on which school she will attend, but has chosen accounting as her major. During her high school career, she has been involved with Key Club and National Honor Society, and also participated in soft- ball and cross country. Hannah Wilkison DESSIE MAE BRUCE GRIFFITH SCHOLARSHIP Hannah Wilkison, daugh- ter of Angela Sendmeyer, of Oakland City, and Ralph Wilkison III, of Evansville, is the recipient of the Dessie Mae Bruce Griffith Schol- arship. She will attend Ball State University as a pre- med major, ultimately be- coming a physician. During her time at PCHS, she has been involved with Nation- al Honor Society, Medical Research Program and has participated in Swing Choir and the spring musicals. Maria Cazares Herrera VINSON FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Maria Cazares Herrera, daughter of Bonifacio Ca- zares and Maria Guadalupa Cazeras, of Petersburg, is the recipient of the Vinson Family Scholarship. She will attend Vincennes Universi- ty, transferring to the Uni- versity of Southern Indiana after her freshmen year, and major in nursing. During her high school years, she has been involved in Key Club, Student Government, the Yearbook Committee and Peer Tutoring. Autumn Pancake PETERSBURG HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1959 Autumn Pancake, the daughter of Douglas and Jo- line Pancake, of Velpen, is the recipient of the Peters- burg High School Class of 1959 Scholarship. She will attend Purdue University and major in pharmacy, with plans to become a pharma- cist. She has participated in National Honor Society, Key Club and Spanish Club, along with Swing Choir, marching band and soccer. Sydney Nolan PIKE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP Sydney Nolan, daughter of Chad and Mendi McClel- lan, of Petersburg, is the re- cipient of the Pike Coun- ty Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. She will at- tend Ball State University and major in zoology. Her career choice is undecided. She participated in National Honor Society, Student Gov- ernment, Key Club and JAG during her high school ca- reer. Hannah Allen MONTES/FENOL SCHOLARSHIP Hannah Allen, daugh- ter of Christy and John Al- len II, is the recipient of the Montes/Fenol Scholarship. She will attend Oakland City University with plans to major in elementary ed- ucation. She looks forward to becoming an elementa- ry teacher. She has been in- volved in Student Govern- ment and Key Club, among other things. Aspen Wynn DARWIN AND GRACE YOUNGS SCHOLARSHIP Aspen Wynn, the daugh- ter of Somer Wallace, is the recipient of the Darwin and Grace Youngs Scholarship. She plans to attend the Uni- versity of Southern Indiana and major in business man- agement. During her high school years, she has par- ticipated in National Honor Society, Key Club, German Club, and areas of the Pike Central Band, from march- ing band to winter guard. Shelbi Pipes FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Shelbi Pipes, son of Da- vid and Lori Pipes, of Pe- tersburg, is the recipient of the Petersburg First United Methodist Church Scholar- ship. She plans to attend In- diana State University and major in nursing. She has participated in National Honor Society, Student Gov- ernment and Peer Tutoring, and played softball and vol- leyball throughout her high school career. Lane Ridao HARRELL AND LAVERN SHOULTZ SCHOLARSHIP Lane Ridao, son of Jamie and Gregory Ridao, of Sten- dal, is the recipient of the Harrell and LaVern Shoultz Scholarship. He will attend Indiana University to major in marketing and plans to become a creative director. He participated in National Honor Society, Key Club and Tech Club. He was also on the cross country team and the track team. Breyton Booker PIKE CENTRAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP Breyton Booker, recipient of the Pike Central Alumni Scholarship, is the son of Jennifer Mills, of Peters- burg, and Wes Booker, of Owensboro. He will attend the University of Louisville and major in biology, with the goal of becoming an or- thodontist. He has been in- volved in National Honor Society, FCA, Graduation Committee, and soccer and basketball teams, during his high school career. Caden Armstrong MARY F. CURTIS SCHOLARSHIP Caden Armstrong, recip- ient of the Mary F. Curtis Scholarship, is the son of Holly and Scott Armstrong, of Petersburg. He will be attending the University of Evansville and major in health services administra- tion, ultimately becoming a Physical Therapist. He par- ticipated in National Hon- or Society and Tech Club, as well as ran cross country throughout his high school career. Audra Stone KEMP FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP Audra Stone, recipient of the Kemp Family Scholar- ship, is the daughter of Tra- cy and Trent Stone, of Pe- tersburg. She will attend the University of Southern Indiana and plans to be- come a nurse, then ultimate- ly a nurse practitioner. She has participated in Nation- al Honor Society, FCA, Pep Club, and the softball and basketball teams through- out high school. Cameron Henson KENNY VEALE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Cameron Henson, the re- cipient of the Kenny Veale Memorial Scholarship, is the son of Donald and Mel- anie Henson. He will attend the University of Southern Indiana and plans to major in mechanical engineering. During high school, he has participated in FCA, Gradu- ation Committee, basketball and soccer. Chelsea Fidler PETERSBURG HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP Chelsea Fidler, daughter of Ronald and Dana Fidler, is the recipient of the Peters- burg High School Alumni Scholarship. She plans to at- tend the University of South- ern Indiana and major in bi- ology, with a goal of becom- ing a zoologist.
