"At Otwell Elementary, be- tween the general fund, capital projects fund, Rainy Day, school lunch and any other fund for ex- penses, we spent $1,426.258," Blake said. "At Petersburg Ele- mentary, we spent $ 3,186,206. At Winslow, we spent $2,490,436. At the middle school, we spent $2,742,876. And at the high school we spent $5,475,728." Blake also broke down the cost per pupil at each school building as follows: • Otwell Elem. – $ 9,383 • Petersburg Elem. – $7,604 • Winslow Elem. – $ 8,112 • Pike Central M.S. – $ 6,192. • Pike Central H.S. – $ 9,778. "The costs that you talked about ... for Otwell, Petersburg, Winslow and the high school and middle school – why is Otwell so high? " board member Ron Sharp asked. "I would say some of it may come from the energy efficien- cy, because of the five buildings right now, it's the least efficient in terms of having the equipment updated," Blake replied. In other action: • The school board voted to ac- cept $500 donations from Otwell United Methodist Women and Al- giers United Methodist Church for BPA Nationals; a $ 600 dona- tion from the Pike County Eco- nomic Growth and Development Council to the high school's ag- riculture department to be used for student field trips, judging events and FFA Conferences; and a $1,000 donation from Main Street Presbyterian Church for BPA Nationals. The school board also accept- ed the resignation of Shirley Van Meter as one of its appointees on the Pike County Public Library board of trustees. "My suggestion is that if any- one is interested in the position they submit a letter to me by the end of the month, and we can make our appointment in May," Blake said. APPOINTMENTS • Kim Nalley, Pike Central High School homebound instruc- tor for the 2015 -16 school year, ap- proximately five hours per week, up to 95 hours per semester.
