Social media presence encourages interaction from readers. Breaking news alerts keep readers on top of issues. Crisp, clean site with nice contrast of colors. Good local content. Division 3 First place Second place www.springsvalleyherald.com Becky Hutslar, Springs Valley Herald (French Lick) Comments: Website is well-organized. The weather feature at the top of the site is nice and reader-friendly. The mystery photo feature promotes audience participation. The click through menus are a quick way to sort through the plethora of local news. www.spencercountyjournal.com Staff, The Spencer County Journal-Democrat (Rockport) Comments: Good local content. First place www.news-banner.com Staff, The News-Banner (Bluffton) Comments: Website is clean with multiple ways to find the top stories. Audience engagement is easily available with news-sharing opportunities, high school blogs, poll and webcasts. Links to Facebook and Twitter make good use of social media. The online puzzles and comics are entertaining features to go with the informative local content that is key to the site. Second place www.loogooteetribune.com Staff, The Loogootee Tribune Comments: Site is simple and no frills, but there is beauty in simplicity. The photo galleries are very nice. Dropdown menus make it easy to find what you need (though you have a typo "sumbit" under the sports dropdown). www.reporter-times.com Todd Davidson, The Reporter Times (Martinsville) Comments: Vibrant website that is easy to navigate with the tab tools at the top. I like the color of the layout. Gets a lot of information on the homepage without looking too busy. Would like for the photo galleries and videos to be easier to find. Variety of solid local information to keep readers informed about their communities. I like the color of the layout. Gets a lot of information on the homepage without looking too busy. Would like for the photo galleries and videos to be a little easier to find. Variety of solid local information to keep engaging readers informed about their communities. Like the poll at the top that gets readers engaged, as well as easy access to photo galleries. Good local content. Easy access to the TV listings was interesting touch. Strong local content plus state news as well that's simple to find. Good use of video and photo galleries. www.courierpress.com Staff, Evansville Courier & Press Comments: Great design. Not cluttered. Lots of interesting and diverse content: stories, blogs, videos and live cams. Some of the cams were silly but fun. Great way to engage users. Lots of blogs on diverse topics. Enjoyed the multimedia, including the falcon cam.
