Monroe Central players watch as a shot barely makes it in to give them the lead during their Class A sectional semifinal basketball game against Liberty Christian at Monroe Central. Liberty Christian won 54-49. Second place Eye on the ball John Terhune Journal & Courier (Lafayette) Comments: Second place is tight, sharp and the perfect moment. Third place Touchdown Chris Howell The Herald-Times (Bloomington) Comments: Third is the peak moment with the right lens. General category comments: A lot of very strong entries, comparing photos from different sports added an extra challenge. We tried to come up with the best combination of composition and intensity in the winners. First place stood out easily, but it got tough after that. There were six other images that could have been chosen as well.
