With four key returning players Sadie Rayl, Kendra Losa, Maci Branstetter, and Meagan Earley from the year before when they were the North Coast Section Champions. All of the returning players are in the starting lineup consisting of two others Nicole Volmer and Emma Gomes. With a 2 win 2 loss overall, their new season is starting off rough, but the Sections Champs hope to change their play. Paradise Coaches: Terrianne Brown, David Kagan Colors: Green, Gold, White City: Paradise, CA Mascot: Bobcat Paradise Varsity girls basketball team, coached by Seth Roberts, will be returning to this years Holiday Classic tournament for their twenty-sixth year as a girls team. Their record from last year as a team was 22-6 and in league they were 10-4, they were the section runners up. Paradise plans on using the pre-season to prepare Red Bluff Coach: Kathy Brandt Colors: Green, Gold City: Red Bluff, CA Mascot: Spartan The Red Bluff Girls Basketball Team is coming off a league championship from last year, but lost to to P.V. in the first round of playoffs. Returning from last season are some key returning seniors this year. With returning seniors Jessica Macdonald, Taylor Wood, Alex Dahnke, and Lily Brose the Spartans are looking to have an athletic line up while being able to showoff their strengths such as making three point shooting, their quickness and althletic ability. With a league championship last year they are hoping to win league again this year but make it further through playoffs. As the start of the season the Lady Spartans are 3 wins and 0 losses over Trinity, West Valley, and Anderson and then won the Anderson Tournament. The Shasta Wolves are coming to the Holiday Classic Tournament after a close win 48 to 50 against the Paradise Bobcats. With a full roster containing #1 Ali Goodman ,junior, #3 Emmi Petersen ,junior, #11 Julia Linde, junior, #12 Sara Gitter, junior, #21 Lindsey Patterson, junior, #22 Lana Brown, junior, #32 Amada Web, junior, #10 Lauren Crosby, senior, #15 Riley Murphy, senior, #23 Danielle Chabolla, senior, #24 Holly Phillips, senior, #25 Megan Pickening, senior, and #34 Megan Bielecki, senior, they start out their season with a 4 win 3 loss overall. The year before they lost to Chico in Section SemiFinal. Central Valley Coach: Nathan Emerson Colors: Navy, White City: Shasta Lake, CA Mascot: Falcons The Central Valley Varsity Girls basketball team has won three games and lost four. The falcons first lost to West Valley with a score of 49 to 16. Their first win was against Shasta where they scored 33 to 27. On the team are four seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and one freshman. The seniors are number four Ashley Sandberg, number 24 Vikki Gonzalez, number 32 Camille Lefebure and number 33 Yessica Lopez. Juniors include number 12 Candace Cannon, 14 Kelsey Hargrave and Harlee Lacroix who is number 21. Sophomores are Callie Miller number 22 and Jasmine Ruby number 10. The only freshman on the team is number 30 Katana Martina. Last year the team made it to the second round of section playoffs, they lost to Anderson. The teams strengths are three post players. In the words of the coach, the freshman is a force to be reconed with as is Callie Miller.
