Senior members of the Pike Central Chapter of the National Honor Society were honored last Friday at the 16th Annual Recognition Dinner at IPL. The top 10 percent of Pike Central's Class of 2018 were honored last Friday during the Pike Coun- ty School Corporation's 16th Annual Recognition Dinner. Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the class for grade point average were, front row (l to r): Jordan Montgomery, Lexi Halbrader, Natalie Bur- khart, Faryn Hensler, Chelsea Fidler and Courtney Frederick; back row: Audra Stone, Caden Armstrong, Breyton Booker, Lincoln Vaughn, Adam Martinez, Peyton Sorgius, Sydney Nolan, Payton Simmons and Autumn Pancake. Ann Sutton was named the Pike County School Corporation Distinguished Alumni for 2018. She was nominated by Kyle Brames. Jenny Cherry was named Elementary School Teacher of the Year. Cherry teaches kindergar- ten at Winslow. She was presented the award by Kara Woolsey, who nominated her for Teacher of the Year. Natalie Burkhart received an IPL Scholarship. She displays her award with her parents, Joe and Dalene Burkhart. Lincoln Vaughn was named an IPL Scholarship winner. He is shown with his parents, Kurt and Jenny, displaying a plaque for the scholarship.
