She was born on Septem- ber 22, 1935, in Pike Coun- ty, to the late Lawrence and Mildred L. (Horne) Willis. She married Raymond J. Dyer on December 6, 1954. She attended the Pike Coun- ty Schools and attended Pe- tersburg High School. She was employed as an explo- sives handler at Crane Na- val Base. She loved work- ing jigsaw puzzles, sitting in her swing and she loved her family. She is survived by two daughters, Connie R. (Da- vid) Ray, and Christi L. Raney; four grandchildren, Christopher Ray, Carrie Worthy, Cory (Dee) Brown and Casey Raney; five great- grandchildren, Elijah Wor- thy, Lucas Worthy, Reece Ray, Sydnee Raney and Alex Raney; several step-grand- children; two brothers, Lar- ry (Linda) Willis and Lan- nie ( Vicki) Willis; and sev- eral nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mildred L. (Horne) Wil- lis; husband, Raymond J. Dy- er; granddaughter, Cassie Ray; and great-grandson, Cooper Ray. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washing- ton, with Bro. Bob Tipton of- ficiating. Interment will fol- low at Plainville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memo- rial contributions may be made to the Plainville Unit- ed Methodist Church. He was born January 4, 1935, in Vincennes, to Rus- sell and Cora McCarter. He spent his life farming and logging, loved mush- room hunting, fishing, and riding his Kubota with his dog, Missy. He is survived by his sons, Jim ( Joyce) McCarter, of Wheatland, Donnie Mc- Carter, of Wheatland, and David (Becky) McCarter, of Wheatland; daughter, Bren- da (Harold) Hill, of Wheat- land; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack McCarter, of Bicknell, and Mac McCarter, of Paxton, Ind.; sisters, Hel- en McCord, of Vincennes, and Grace Gilbert, of Vin- cennes; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two great-grandchil- dren; four brothers; and his parents. Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Pastor Sam McCord offici- ating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Monroe City. Veale Creek Theatre to have movie night this Saturday Veale Creek Theatre will be launching Community Movie Nights this Saturday, April 21.
