NO. 1383292 Pike County, Indiana is planning to undertake a project involving pedestrian improvements, funded in part by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). e project is located at the Water Street crossing of Pride's Creek in Petersburg, Indiana. Under the preferred alternative, the proposed project would involve removal of Pike County Bridge No. 297 (Bridge 297), which is currently closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. It is the project intent that Pike County Bridge 150 is rehabilitated and placed in the current location of Bridge 297 to establish a new pedestrian crossing along Petersburg's F.I.T. Trail. e project involves impacts below Pride's Creek's Ordinary High Water Mark, and requires less than one acre of new right of way. No business or residential relocations are required. Properties listed in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) located within the Area of Potential Effects (APE) are limited to Bridge 297. e proposed action impacts properties listed in or eligible for the NRHP. e FHWA has issued an "Adverse Effect" finding for the project because the project will demolish Bridge 297.
