If no one answers, leave a call back number. Double A Autocare has ribbon cutting The Double A Autocare on Illinois St. celebrated their recent opening with a ribbon cutting on Thurs- day. It is owned by cousins Austin Gregory and Alex Donohoo. Gregory said both of them worked for other auto repair businesses until now. He said "We have wanted to have our own business and we got the chance to do it. We were a little worried, but we both said 'let's do it,'" said Gregory. They offer all types of maintenance and repair, including oil changes, service, brakes, alignments and tire sales. "Pretty much everything across the board, from transmission to engine," said Gregory. He said they also work on ATVs and motorcycles. Double A is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at 103 W. Illinois St. in Petersburg. UE to present faculty soloists The University of Evans- ville Orchestra will present an all-Beethoven concert on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be at Victory Theatre, located at 600 Main St, Evansville. The concert is free and open to the public. UE faculty soloists Robert Anemone on violin, Kirsten Jermé on cello, and Garnet Ungar on piano, will join the orchestra in the rarely-heard Triple Concerto, following a performance of the Corio- lan Overture. The concert will be conducted by Chun- Ming Chen. Luff nominated for Outstanding Physician Award at Memorial Dr. Mark Luff is one of the top six physicians nominat- ed for the Lit- tle Company of Mary Memori- al Hospital and Health Care Center Out- standing Physi- cian Award. Dr. Luff, a family medicine provider at Pe- tersburg Fam- ily Medicine in Petersburg, earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed his residency in family practice at the US - AF Medical Center at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He joined the active medi- cal staff at Memorial Hospi- tal in 2002. The award is based on out- standing job performance reflecting Memorial Hospi- tal's mission statement and the core values of respect for human dignity, compassionate caring, steward- ship, quality and justice. To be ac- cepted as a nom- inee, a physician must be classi- fied as a member of the hospital's medical staff for a minimum of 12 months and be in good stand- ing with the medical staff. Other physicians nomi- nated for the award are Dr. Karim Anwar, Dr. Adam Dawkins, Dr. Duane Flan- nagan, Dr. Kevin Lusk and Dr. Kristin Werne. The LCM Outstanding Physician Award will be pre- sented by the medical staff president during the hospi- tal's Medical Staff Apprecia- tion Banquet in April. First day of Spring The first day of Spring in Pike County brought a snow. The large wet flakes made for picturesque scenes on Wednesday morning. It was gone by the end of the day, but the cold wet weather stayed around through the week- end. Predictions for this week are warmer temperatures, but they contin- ue to call for rain.
