The Press-Dispatch Church Wednesday, March 28, 2018 C- 3 for your sins and He will give you plenty to do — the most rewarding service any man could possibly render. RAMBLINGS Continued from page 1 MINUTES Continued from page 1 Continued in next column Continued from page 2 Continued on page 10 and compassion to others. The second in my line of priorities is family be- cause we are important to God as a family where he has delegated the im- portance of raising a fam- ily. He wants our fami- lies to populate the world and be taught how to live as a Christian. The apos- tle Paul said that before he became a believer he could see his life as someone who just fought at the air until he got purpose in his life. That's why we should place purpose in the lives of our families. The Bible teach- es us to care for our elderly and to provide for them as their needs arise. In each of our lives there will be a role reversal should we live long enough. The best team ever put together was a younger person putting the sage advice of an elder to work for the good of all. The third priority for me is the church and the rea- son for this is because the building we worship at is only a building and the peo- ple who worship there are the church. If we are going to worship in our buildings we should care for them, but if the people who make up the church aren't being taught and nurtured the building would not be near- ly as important. There has been many arbor meetings and home churches led by people of God's choosing in times past. So always remember Baptist, Meth- odist or what ever denom- ination you are associated with, you are a member of the church of Jesus Christ. Fourth priority is our na- tion and as mixed up and messed up as it is, it is still a free nation where we have the right to disagree with one another until a reason- able solution can be had. We are a nation that stands for our rights and our free- doms. It is not only right to stand for our nation of America but it is what God demands of us. My last priority is my daily duties where the Lord asks that we work with a diligence and sense of accomplishing our tasks to the best of our abilities. God gets glory when we use our talents and gifts for His people. Next Sunday we will have early church start- ing at 8 a.m. with a mes- sage followed by commu- nion and then we will dis- miss to have some Easter Sunday refreshments. You are invited to any and all of our services. I will agin echo what I said in an ear- lier article that we welcome the chance to show our Vel- pen neighbors that we real- ly care. Enough for now so be blessed and be a bless- ing. Being a Patient Example "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." ( James 1:19, K JV ). This is a verse that every- one should try to remember on a daily basis. Especially as Christians and examples of what it means to be one to others, we need to keep this verse in our heart and mind everyday. In this scripture, it re- minds us to be a good, pa- tient and willing listen- er, to not hurry into our judgements or telling our thoughts and beliefs, along with being slow to wrath or anger. We are all guilty at some point or another in our lives of doing just the opposite of all of the above. Just because it is hard to do, and that you will not always be success- ful, does not mean that you should not try to achieve these qualities everyday. Start by remembering that a little prayer goes a long way. Ask for strength, courage, wisdom, patience, or help in whatever it is that you are going through at that partic- ular time. A prayer does not have to be long to be heard or use big words to be an- swered. God meets us all where we are. Following this simple scripture opens one of ma- ny doorways for God to bless your life and help you on your path to him. Showing these simple kind aspects in your life helps show oth- ers that God is in your life, and can aid in visibly show- ing them that they need him, too. God bless you and keep you. We welcome you to all ser- vices. Come and worship Je- sus with us. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. Web- site: grcenter.net – E-mail address: glezenrevivalcen- ter@yahoo.com. Jesus gives us a job to do and the power to do it. Jesus said that we must do three things about the res- urrection. 1. The Resurrection is to be believed. 2. The Resurrection is to be talked about. 3. The Resurrection is to change our lives. Leon Pomeroy, Pastor PETERSBURG FREE METHODIST CHURCH 202 E.
