Arts and Entertainment 'Halo 4' lives up to its reputation Page 4 November 16, 2012 Laura DeFonte Staff Writer The newest "Halo" Xbox game was released November 6 during the season of big titles (fall). This game is continued off of Halo 3 but it wasn't produced by Bungie, but instead produced by 343 Industries. 343 Industries is relatively new video game company who also made "Halo Reach"; a prequel to the "Halo Incident" released in between "Halo 3" and "Halo 4". The story picks up right after "Halo 3". The story introduces a whole new enemy along with some familiar e n e m i e s . Unfortunately the storyline is somewhat short and can be beat in a matter of hours. On a positive note, the graphics have been sharpened quite a bit. For example, the guns look more realistic and a covenant grunt can actually be described thoroughly, instead of just calling it a small round midget alien. Along with graphics, the sound of the weapons actually are different from one another and it makes the game a little more believable. We have more options with guns and different weapons that we can get. The controls are still like the original but you can switch them to make playing to your c o m f o r t . Unlike the new "Assassins Creed 3", they changed the controls a lot. This is something I really enjoy about Halo; the fact that you can change the controls to any way you want or just keep it to the original Halo controls. Enough of the single- player side of the game. In my view, the game was not Bluffer Staff Pick 'Homeward Bound' (1993) Rebecca Blanchard A&E Editor The classic film "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" was filmed first in 1963, then in 1993 was based off of the best-selling novel The Incredible Journey by Sheila Burnford. In this film, a newly adopted bull dog named Chance, played by Michael J. Fox, teams up with Himalayan cat Sassy, played by Sally Fields and faithful dog Shadow, played by Don Ameche to find their way home. When they are left on a family friend's farm, they come to believe that their family is never going to return. Shadow takes the first leap to freedom when he senses that something is wrong with his human, Jamie Seaver. He cannot fathom that his best friend would desert him, so he leaves to find out what is wrong. While doing so, he challenges Sassy to get her fur dirty and Chance to trust. This movie is truly a classic worth seeing; it provokes laughter, anticipation and a solid worry that they won't make it back home, and if they do, if they'll make it back together. This film is fantastic for all ages since whether you are a fith grader or 50 years old, you will be on the edge of your seat throughout the whole 84 minutes. "This movie is truly a classic worth seeing; it provokes laughter. anticipation and a solid worry that they won't make it back home..." Despite being made nearly 20 years ago, the film still holds up to modern day movies. The production value was fantastic and everything was fascinating to watch. Even if you watch this movie a million times you will always find a tiny detail here and there that makes it even closer to a movie lover's heart. Even characters that only appear for brief moments are easy to fall in love with instantaneously, this movie is the perfect thing to watch on a rainy cold night whether it be by yourself, with a friend, loved one, or a whole family. Possibly one of the best parts of this movie is that it doesn't have the dog dilemma where the dog always ends up dead. Instead, the dogs and cat persevere while still making you wonder what will happen. Though the film is becoming harder to find as the years and decades go by, it is a movie worth making an effort to find. Despite its ongoing rarity, it is a film that is worth seeing over and over again. Not only that, it is a right of passage for every child. It is a movie that should be seen, simple as that. released for the continuation of the story of the other Halo's. It was released to make multiplayer playing the most enjoyable game. They have re- imagined the online side of things by creating more of a "Call of Duty" style load out for the game. Like "Halo Reach", your experience earned during your played matches is used to purchase items foryour character to them make stronger and get better we a p o n s . All ofyour achievements are kept track of and you can get certain medals such as being a Sniper or killing This game will not disappoint its fans. Swift draws from personal experiences once again Brittany Villa Sports Editor Taylor Swift, the multi- platinum selling superstar came out with her newest album, "Red," on October 22, 2012. It took 2 minutes for the album to go to number one after the release of it at midnight on October 22. Once again, Taylor Swift has used her personal life experience with relationships as inspiration for the songs on this album. The chart topper, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" expresses Swift's feelings after the final break-up of an on- again, off-again relationship. While Swift is well-known for writing tragic break-up songs, Red also features songs about happy relationships. For example, the song "Stay Stay Stay" talks about a boy that she has been in love with for awhile and how he deals so maturely with her after an argument. In a webcast, Swift told her fans that the songs on this record are all about "the tumultuous, insane, crazy-intense, semi-toxic relationships" she has had in the last two years. The 22-year old began her career as a country music singer, but with her newest album, she has ventured away from the typical country genre and has explored other types of music. Rolling Stone Magazine called this album Swift's "most eclectic album yet". Red is the perfect album for any teenager. The messages of the songs and A solid, truly classic film. The two player is equally fun as the one player. It has entertaining activities for both of the characters. When you finish the game of Campaign mode, you still have multiple side activites to earn you more points and get some awards to make your main character stronger and get them better weapons. Overall, the game was enjoyable and I would still play it even though I've already beaten it. I suggest it to others who also enjoyed other games such as "Call of Duty" or any of the other Halo's. www.rollingstone.com Album cover for Taylor Swiftʼs ʻRed.ʼ experiences with relationships. The album could also be viewed as a "what to do" or "what not to do" for any guys interested in learning to be the ideal boyfriend. With such a large variety of musical inspiration, nearly everyone could enjoy his or her favorite "type" of music in just this album. If you do not have this record on your I-pod, I strongly recommend that you purchase it A.S.A.P. A great musical experience
