C-2 Church Wednesday, November 8, 2017 The Press-Dispatch Baptist "Gentle eyes that see so much, paws that have the quiet touch, Purrs to sig- nal "all is well" and show more love than words could tell. Graceful move- ments touched with pride, a calming presence by our side. A friendship that takes time to grow. Small wonder why we love them so"—Author Unknown. This week, PAWS is featuring an enchanting, sweet cat named Pipp, who has lived at PAWS for over a year, is very quiet and unassuming. She can of- ten be found sleeping un- der the kitchen sink or on a shelf in the office at PAWS. Pipp is a connoisseur of good food and is slightly plump, and has soft, plush white fur, with some tan and gray accents on her ears and tail. Pipp can be adopted by calling 812- 354-9894. Just me writing this ar- ticle and or you reading it al- most would cause ones blood pressure to spike. The Bible always give us hope in times of uncertainty. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of pow- er, and of love, and of a sound mind" (II Timothy 1:7). We have to remember that this kind of FEAR comes from Satan not from God. He loves to bring us down in a season of celebration of the coming holidays. Be- ing Thankful towards God for the country we live in and all the benefits we en- joy. The celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus. And the new year that will bring Blessings into our lives. The Lord wants us not to be fear- ful and He wants us to have a peace of mind. Don't let the devil steal your joy confuse your mind and bring uncer- tainty into your life these last couple of months of the year. Bask in the love of the sea- son the power of the Holy One and keep our thoughts focused on the true meaning of the holidays. See our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Ayrshi- reValleyGB. Frank A. We were happy to have all our visitors Sunday morning as Charley Al- dridge gave his testimony and we welcome you back anytime. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be bur- dened again by a yoke of slavery" (Galatians 5:1). When we accept Christ into our lives as our savior, we are released from the burden of sin that weighs heavily on us as sinners. We are free from the grip of sin, praise God. Let us be ever careful not to take that burden back. We are praying for those in need of the Lord's heal- ing touch, those who have lost loved ones, our coun- try and our leaders. We invite you to worship with us at any of our ser- vices. Ralph Newkirk, Pastor Marla Morrison, Report- er GLEZEN G.B. CHURCH Corner of Center and Sycamore Sunday school 9:30 a.m.; morning worship 10 :30 a.m.; Wednesday Bible study at 6:30 p.m. Remember those on our prayer list, the shut ins and our lost loved ones. As we seek the Lord through His Word and wor- ship, we find much more than wisdom and under- standing; His spirit trans- forms and renews us, cre- ating a heart of gratitude and love. This transforma- tion can only occur when we take our eyes off the world and keep them fixed on the Lord. God has always loved us; now we can have a reciprocal relationship of love, faithfulness and com- mitment to Him. "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," de- clares the Lord. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people" ( Jeremi- ah 31:33). Ken Reeder, Pastor Karri Brock, Reporter GR ACE G.B. CHURCH 1007 E. Union St. Winslow No Sunday School. There are two ways to re- spond to adversity, discour- agement or trust. The prob- lem with giving in to dis- couragement is that it on- ly makes things worse, for with it may come bitterness, anger, jealousy, revenge and so forth. We may even try to escape through drugs or al- cohol. But do any of these solve the problems? No. God has a better way— the way of trust. Some- times He may show us that we were in the wrong. When that is the case, we need to confess it, repent and seek His forgiveness. Sometimes, however, we can only accept what is happening and ask God to help us endure it and triumph over it. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. I'm sure you will leave feel- ing blessed. May God bless each and every one. Strength to the Weary He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak (Isaiah 40 :29, K JV ). There are many things in this life that make us feel weary or even weak.
