C-2 Church Wednesday, November 1, 2017 The Press-Dispatch Baptist Having someone to love is family. Having somewhere to go is home. Having both is a blessing. This week PAWS is featuring a people pleas- ing hound named Scout, who came to PAWS some time ago with heart worms. He has been on the long road to recovery and finally has a clean bill of health. Scout appears to have some Spaniel Beagle heritage, is tri-colored black, brown and white, has soft, short fur, is ap- proximately two years old and promises to be a spirited and loyal com- panion. To adopt this handsome fellow, call 812-354-9894. PAWS WEEK PAWS WEEK Pet of the SCOUT Continued from page 1 Continued on page 3 Church of Christ Church of God Independent Independent Catholic Christian shut it" (Revelation 3:8). Saints who remain faith- ful to the truth of God have an open door before them. My soul, thou hast resolved to live and die by that which the Lord has revealed in His Word, and therefore before thee stands this open door. I will enter in by the open door of communion with God. Who shall say me nay? Jesus has removed my sin and given me His righteous- ness; therefore I may freely enter. Lord, I do so by Thy grace. I have also before me an open door into the mys- teries of the Word. I may enter into the deep things of God. Election, union to Christ, the Second advent— all these are before me, and I may enjoy them. No prom- ise and no doctrine are now locked up against me. An open door of access is before me in private and an open door of usefulness in public. God will hear me; God will use me. A door is opened for my onward march to the church above, and for my daily fellowship with saints below. Some may try to shut me up or shut me out, but all in vain. Soon shall I see an open door in- to heaven: the pearl gate will be my way of entrance, and then I shall go in unto my Lord and King and be with God eternally shut-in. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. I'm sure you will leave feeling blessed. May God bless each and every one. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter GLEZEN G.B. Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. At the end of our lies, the desired testimony of every believer should be, "I have fought a good fight; I have kept the faith" (II Timothy 4:7). If we truly love God, we will serve and follow Him all of our days, and our example will shine to those around us. Ken Reeder, Pastor Karri Brock, Reporter MT. OLIVE G.B. CHURCH (Cato) 6187 E. Paying Peace for Wrongs Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else (1 Thessa- lonians 5:15, K JV ). Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. ( James 3:18, K JV ) These two verses togeth- er are so very powerful. As Christians we must not pay back wrong with wrong, but strive to be the peacemak- er and help others on their path to righteousness by doing good for them so that they can see God through us. I know that this is very hard to do at times, but helping others and offering peace instead of war with wrong doings is a path to righteousness for us Chris- tians, and leads others to God in the process. This gives us an even closer re- lationship with our Lord and Saviour. We welcome you to all services. Come and wor- ship Jesus with us. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. Bring a main dish and a side or des- sert. In Hebrews 11, we are shown examples of people who believed God, and be- cause of that belief (faith), they moved in mighty ways for God. From Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and Sar- ah, through Rahab, Gideon, Samson, David and Samu- el, each one of these people had faith enough in God to obey Him and His Word re- gardless of attitudes of soci- ety and politics. They stood firm in knowing that God had their back and would accomplish what He said He would do. All of those accomplish- ments and not one of those people had the benefit of the third person of the trin- ity, the Holy Spirit, living within them. Today, we live in a time when Jesus has al- ready lived a sinless life on the earth, defeated sin, sick- ness, death and the grave. He has not only given us victory over those things, but He has also made a way for us to have God living on the inside of us. We should be walking in victory in ev- ery area of our lives—(Ro- mans 8:37). Check the website for lo- cation and time for upcom- ing events, www.livingfc. org. Mailing address: P.O.
