Postcards this week at Sweets Col- umn, Winslow, IN 47598 were none, but you don't have to go on vacation to send us a card, you can send us one from your hometown and say, "Hi." Winslow had some nice weather last week, but a little chilly for some at night. We had rain last Monday in- to Tuesday and nothing more until Friday and the weekend where the rain came in from the North so it al- so brought into our areas the cold- er temps, 60s into the 30s. One day, no two days there was a rainbow, was seen and No rain anywhere and the other rainbow was a double and it had rained. It was amazing to see at any time and it was a full rainbow. Last week was Fall Break for the Pike County Schools, and Kyana had a great week because she got to spend some of that week at her Aunt T's and Uncle Ted's house. They have animals and Kyana loves all animals, so she re- ally had a great Fall Break. I told you we had some leaks at the cabin, but Norm patched the nails in the roof and he must have got them all because there were no leaks at the last heavy rainfall. Oh yeah, did you all see where Car- roll Edrington is being inducted into the Oakland City University Intercol- legiate Athletic Hall of Fame on Satur- day November 11 at a banquet? In the paper there was a write up on him and a picture of the Winslow High School 1954-55 basketball team. I recognized some of the players like my Uncle Law- rence Meyer. To Carroll, we all say a big Congratulations for this honor. My mom, Mildred, is here in Winslow for a week's stay or longer and while she is here, her birthday, which is on Halloween, will be cele- brated as she hands out candy with her cousin Jan at the Corner Book Shoppe, as the rest of us are out or treating the neighbors. Mom turned 91 and she is known as the Good Witch of Winslow. Sweets Column will be out that Halloween Night, or I should say was out Halloween night to thank all our Winslow stars for decorating their yards for all us kids to enjoy. More in- fo on Halloween in next week's issue, but we hope you all had a spooktacu- lar time. The World Series between the Dodgers and the Astros has begun and what a series we have seen so far on T V as we all root for our turn to win, and to stay up long enough to see the ending, even if it takes 11 innings. We hope your team wins. Not much more to ramble about this week, but as the lights begin to dim, keep an eye on family and friends, slow down and enjoy all your surroundings, and always smile, wave, and say Hi to everyone you see this week.
