His family had been searching for word on whether or not he had sur- vived the shooting. Berger was a financial adviser at EFS Advisors in Minnesota. Friends and fami- ly reacted to the news as word spread of Berger's untimely passing. "Condolences to the family of my childhood friend Steve Berger...Class of 91' Wauwatosa West," wrote childhood friend F lowers Nash II on Facebook while sharing a photo of Berger in a #40 uniform as a player for West's basketball team. Another childhood friend also shared fond memories of playing basketball with Berger. "I was part of the '90- '91 Tosa West basketball team," wrote Matt Bruggink. "It was a special team, made up of a special group of guys. The bond created never goes away... We've now lost Steve, in the absolutely awful bloodshed in Las Ve gas. Words cannot express the sor- row. My prayers go out to everyone af fected by this senseless act... And I pray for better days to come for us all." Berger leaves behind three children.
