Mayor Klipsch also an- nounced Coan was "step- ping aside" as fire chief to al- low younger members to get involved. He was presented a plaque by Klipsch for his service to Petersburg. Ross Elmore was named the new fire chief at the Tuesday meeting of the Pe- tersburg City Council. They ended the ceremony with a firefighters version of a ribbon cutting. They used a jaws-of-life to cut a fire hose instead of a ribbon.
