We have put her on many task from unloading a truck load of food for commodities to answering the phone, fi ling, faxing, computer data input, working in the consignment store, and gift store to even helping with BINGO. I must say she has pulled it off with fl ying colors and always with a sweet smile and very caring heart. CORNER 25th Annual Flea Market Ever considered sharing your time with the Neal Senior Center as a volunteer? Volunteers are a vital part of everything that happens at the Neal Senior Center. Our dedicated volun- teers of all ages enable us to offer more activities and services to people throughout Cleveland County. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, renew old acquaintances and stay active. So come on over and try something new and choose to volunteer and hour or two. We'd really appreciate it if you do and so will the people we serve! Miscellaneous Positions Receptionist for Income Tax: welcome customers as they come in and have them sign in and fill out paperwork. Needed for Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am – 4:00pm from February 1st Food Service: Preparation. Preparing food for the dining room, home delivered meals, and special events. Office/Clerical: Answering phone, Faxing, greeting & helping people at the front desk, filing, copying, etc… Monday night bingo: Bingo caller, floor sales, food and beverage bar, and greeter/coun- ter. Consignment shop: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, 10:00 – 3:00, and someone to keep up with the sales record and payments. Driving: Delivering meals to home bound adults, taking frail adults to medical appoint- ments and or shopping. Instructors: Teach a class about something you enjoy. Maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, decorating, etc… If you have a desire to find out about any of these volunteer positions, or have special talents you would like to share, please contact Lori Livingston, volunteer coordinator at 704- 482-3488, we look forward to having you on our team. Harris Drive • Shelby, NC 28150 704-482-3488 To register at the Council on Aging you must meet the following guidelines: •Income Eligibility as set by the NC Dept of Agriculture •Be at least 60years of age To be pick-up your commodities in March at the Senior Center you must register at the Neal Senior Center. Treasures Galore! Great Food! It is time once again for the Council on Aging/Senior Center's Annual Indoor Flea Market, which will be held at the Senior Center (100 T.R. Harris Drive, off of Fallston Rd) on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. There will be many bargains to be found plus those famous ham biscuits, which will be served both days. Persons wishing to purchase bulk orders of ham biscuits (3+) should call Mary Hamrick at 704-482-3488 by Feb. 8th. Don't delay; place your order as soon as possible because those ham biscuits go fast. Ham, Livermush and plain biscuits will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner as long as the supply lasts. Biscuit take-out orders may be made in advance, by calling Mary Hamrick, 704-482-3488. Take this opportunity to treat your friends or employees to a special treat for an early Valentine celebration. Biscuits may be picked up as early as 7:30 am if ordered in advance. Deadline to order ham biscuits is Feb. 8, 2012. Hot dogs will also be available for lunch both days; hot dog plates will include slaw, baked beans and potato chips. Donations for the Flea Market are greatly appreciated by the Senior Center. If you would like to make a donation, please call the Senior Center, 704-482-3488, in advance, so your donation can be properly documented and stored. We are unable to accept clothing and shoes. Please donate clothing and shoes to U.A. Thrift in the name of the Council on Aging/Senior Center. Don't forget the wonderful Flea Market Raffle. The Senior Center will be raffling off a basket full of treasures valued at $100 as well as a homemade sweetheart cake during the Flea Market. Tickets for both raffles will be $1.
