3 Arts & Entertainment December 9, 2011 'Assassin's Creed' captivates players with epic ending Josiah Vasey Guest Writer Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the newest thrilling entry in the Assassin's Creed series. The series is about an ancient war between two groups: The Assassins and the Templars. Both groups fight for a peaceful world, but in drastically different ways. The Assassins want peace through freedom and liberty. The Templars want peace through control. The Teplar's control. They control people, ruling over them and forcing them to change. Revelations finishes the story of one Assassin, Ezio Auditore. Revelations focuses on Ezio's quest for the Maysaf keys, artifacts that will unlock the secrets that lie under the Assassin's old headquarters. Unfortunately, the Templars are also after the keys. Esio must find them all before the Templars do. It is a powerful finish for Ezio's story. Like all the previous titles, Revelations introduces new tools into Ezio's arsenal. In this game, the hookblade and bomb making are introduced. http://files.g4tv.com It is a truly unique experience that will feel totally fresh to gamers. There are many types of gameplay, most of which involve killing a specific target. Revelations also introduces a big leveling system that ensures that you are getting new abilities, weapons, or perks at each level. Unfortunately, finding a match online can be painful. Often it takes me ten minutes to find a match. Thankfully, Revelations features a rematch system that makes it so that you continually play with the same people for many games until you quit. Revelations is a great finish for Ezio's story. It is just slightly disappointing in that it doesn't introduce as much new content as the previous titles. Still, it is the best game yet in the Assassin's Creed series and it makes me look forward to this games exciting future. Ezio, the protagonist of Revelations, hangs over the epic city of Constantinople, Istanbul. This is just one of the many locations in this expansive game. The hookblade is a dynamic new way to traverse the world. It helps you climb faster and get around gaurds quicker too. My favorite use for the hookblade The history of stockings Ryan Fisher Guest Writer stockings I have always had every Christmas morning since before I could remember. The very first thing we would open was our stocking. Mostly because the stockings were always small things like candy, fruit, toothbrushes, and small toys. I remember picking up my stocking and thinking "Oh my, this is heavy" then dump it out and find a grapefruit. This would always anger me knowing I got robbed candy or toys for fruit. But the main question I have always had was, where did the tradition of stockings come from? Why do we have them? So, this question led me to research, and discovered that there is no certainty as to why we have them, but found many cool stories people have made. One of them is that lumberjacks would go out and cut wood for fire in the winter. When they came back their socks would be wet from walking in the snow and they would hang them by the fire to dry. But this doesn't exactly explain why we put fruit and toys in them. Another story is that there was a poor old man with three daughters. So, Santa Claus went down their chimney and found three socks hanging from the fireplace. Sound familiar? Then Santa put three bags of gold coins in each of the stockings. Children heard about this and started putting their socks and shoes out hoping Santa would leave them gifts. Some of the gifts Santa leaves for them are candy or little nick-nacks that can fit perfectly in the stockings we hang. Many kids just worry about the gifts they find in their stockings and don't care about the memories that establish the traditions. Learning the history of a tradition is a great way to appreciate something as simple as stocking stuffers. is the flip, which allows you to run right up to a guard, flip right over him, and run on without losing speed. Bomb making introduces a new level of complexity as well. You can craft all types of bombs to distract or even kill gaurds. Despite these additions, Revelations doesn't introduce any really game changing mechanics and it feels like they could have added more to the game. Where Revelations really stands tall is in it's multiplayer. Starbucks vs. Dutch Bros: Comparing prices of coffee drinks Are you ready for some multiplayer action? When compared in prices, Starbucks and Dutch Brothers both had drinks that were a much better deal than their competitor. In terms of a 16 ounce hot chocolate, the Dutch Cocoa was a better deal. It came to a total of $2.50, whereas a 16 ounce hot chocolate from Starbucks cost $3.15. However, the Dutch Brothers "Carmalizer" is 50 cents more than its competitor's caramel drink. If you do then you will love the Little Rascalz fresh debut album called Homecoming. Little Rascalz is a pop/electronic genre that has the fast moving beats of 3Oh!3, and the easy listening melodies of Owl City. I first heard of the Little Rascalz while visiting my older sibling at Oregon State University. We went to an event called "OSU Rec Night". This was for returning students and a poster said live music. We decided to check it out. The first thing to catch my attention was the live music. I heard it once and I thought it was pretty catchy. The Little Rascalz is composed of Trey Kenyon, and Michael Shogren, both lifelong friends from Albany, Oregon. Trey is the one who produces mixes and promotes the band while Michael is the song writer. The Homecoming album is their debut album. It was released the summer of this year. On the album there are ten songs. I loved all of the songs except for one. "OMG I'll TTYL" which didn't seem to catch my interest. I thought it was a cheesy, song. The lyrics in it were very cheesy, and the music didn't seem to be as good as the other songs on their album. If you like break- "I loved all the songs except for one 'OMG i'll TTYL'. " up songs then you might like this song. The rest of the songs were great. The song "Doctor DJ" is a very good song. It's really easy to get into and flows nicely. The lyrics are easy to listen to, while the beat is at its fast pace. Their hit song of the album would be "Mosh". Even though its fast paced, the easy listening lyrics seem to slow it down. It talks about life stories from the artist. This song has had many hits, and downloads. Michael gets his inspiration for his music throughout everything he sees, and hears every day. They all seem to come from a life experience or encounter that he has had. To sum up the Little Rascalz are a great group. For this being their first Album, I'm excited to hear what they have to release next. they have been working on new music lately and many people seem to like it. you can listen, and download all of their music for free on their facebook page. I recommend this music for any age group. This album would be a great Christmas present for anyone. It has no cussing, or bad themes. If you like music like Owl City and 3OH!3, you will definitely like the Little Rascalz. You can reach the Little Rascalz on their Facebook page at http:// facebook.com/LittleRascalz, or on their website http:// littlerascalzmusic.com/, and download all of the songs for free. Album had some good songs, but oth- ers were cheesy.
