The Center is scheduled for completion in May 2012 and thus far, is running ahead of schedule. construction The building will house a huge Conference Center on the top fl oor, and the fi rst fl oor will provide space for Cleveland Early College High School, CCC's Cor- porate and Con- tinuing Education Department, and Workforce Development. The completion of the LeGrand Con- ference Center should result in a positive ripple effect through the community by providing much needed space for Cleveland County's economic development, travel and tourism. Technol- ogy of the new center is so advanced it is beyond state of the art and is infl uenced by CISCO, one of today's information tech- nology corporate giants. The LeGrand Center will defi nitely be a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certi- fi ed facility and it is expected to achieve a LEED Silver Certifi ca- tion. –M. A. Uptown Shelby Association said they were very pleased with the turnout and sold 500 passports. Each passport holder received dining samples, drink specials, store dis- counts and giveaways. The event's Dining & Shopping Crawl was held 5 til 9pm on Thursday, November 3rd. There were thirteen businesses participating.
