Lincolnton Lions Club During the month of November, several area business- es have teamed up with the Lincolnton Lions Club by agreeing to display a Lions Club collection box for their customers to deposit can goods and non-perishable items for Christian Ministry of Lincoln County. Those Lincoln County businesses participating in the Lions Club Food Drive include: Duncan's Auto, 1116-B E. Main St.; The Drug Store, 9576 NC Hwy. 10 West in Vale; Lincoln Printing Services, 2303 E. Main St; Maiden Seafood, Old Hwy. 321 in Lincolnton. Christian Ministry of Lincoln County's Food Pantry desperately needs all types of beans, cereal, grits, oatmeal, dried beans, detergent, rice, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and bars of soap, kleenex and toilet tissue. The Lincolnton Lions Club Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at Fatz Café, 1430 E. Main St., Lincolnton from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Cost of Lions Club Pancake Breakfast is $8.00 adults plate and $4.00 children under age 12, for dine in or take out. This is one-day retreat for children ages 6-16 who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Participants will have the opportunity to express their grief through writing, crafts, play activities and group discussions. Uptown Shelby's Taste of the Holidays Shelby, is already building excitement for the coming holiday season. The Taste of the Holidays crawl will be Thursday, November 3rd, from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Customers taking part in the event can purchase a passport to enjoy sample featured menu items at our fi ne uptown eateries and special discounts at participating shops and restaurants. Patrons may buy a passport for the crawl for $5.00 in advance or $10.00 on the night of the event. Visit a restaurant and sample a complimentary dish, and the holder will get their passport punched. CC Home Builders' 20th Annual Hog Happnin' The 20th Annual Hog Happnin', supported by the Cleveland County Home Builders, will take place on Friday & Saturday, November 4-5. This charity event which supports the Children's Homes of Cleveland County and several other local non-profi ts, takes place at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds; admission to the grounds is free on Friday evening and there is a $2 gate fee on Saturday; pre-purchased meal tickets for Saturday include the gate fee. In addition to the Taster's Choice starting at 6:00 on Friday evening, a DJ will play on the main stage from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. followed by Karaoke at 9:00 p.m. Adults and youth can enjoy playing "Minute to Win It" at 7:30. On Saturday there is a BBQ competition, a car and motorcycle show and an outside arts and crafts show.
