The event will be hosted by Cleveland Regional Medical Center's Blumenthal Cancer Center this Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. in the T.R. Harris Conference Center at CRMC, at 201 E. Grover St., Shelby. The cancer center hosts this event every October as part of national breast cancer awareness month. This year's guest speaker is Kristen Miranda, WBTV weekend AM news anchor and consumer reporter. Other features of this year's event include a dance performance by a group from Tammy Arrowood's Stars of Tomorrow, and a poem written and read by the granddaughter of a cancer survivor. In addition, the event will pay tribute to all survivors in attendance and remember those who have lost their battle. This year's event will also continue a new tradition that began at last year's Pink Ribbon Tea. The CRMC button chair will be on display. Attendees are asked to bring a button to be placed on the chair in honor or in memory of a loved one who has fought cancer. At other times of the year, the chair is on display in CRMC's Cancer Center. To register for the event, please call 980-487-3757. Seating is limited.
