August 29, 2011 and August 30, 2011 “The Pie Ladies” is the title of the one-act Auditions To Be Held Dinner Theatre production, which will be per- formed as part of the Council on Aging/Senior Center’s Annual Membership Event on October 27, 2011. There are 9 characters in the production, (6 women and 3 men), who will be cast during auditions, which will be held August 29th (4-6 pm) and August 30th (2:30-4:30 pm) as well as some walk on parts with little or no dialogue. There will be parts available for the novice to experienced thespian. Synopsis: The Pie Ladies pick up their rolling pins to make dozens of pies for the church supper. But as they busily bake pies, they decide to create their own country! Unfortunately this hap- pens in front of the pastor, a potential choir director, and a newspa- per reporter. It’s treason, isn’t it? And who’ll make the pies? Humor abounds as the situation unfolds. Rebecca M. Reger will be directing our Dinner Theatre pro- duction again this year. Ms. Reger is a retired drama teacher as well as a member of the Greater Shelby Community Theater Board of Directors. Most recently, Ms. Reger recently directed GSCT’s production of “The Boys Next Door” and the Council on Aging/Senior Center’s production of “The Last Day at W.O.R.K.” Her theater credits are extensive, on either side of the footlights. The Senior Center is fortunate to have Ms. Reger as part of this production and we are very excited about the opportunity of work- ing with her again. So, if you are a budding thespian, an old hand at theater arts or have a natural flair for drama, we need you!!! Please contact the Senior Center if you wish to audition at 704-482-3488.
