Mrs. Taylor has been teach- ing English at CCC for 36 years and received the Excellence in Teaching Award twice during this time. She has also served as an advisor for the Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society, receiving the Gamma Beta Phi Certifi cate of Merit and served as president for the national organization for three years. She is also a member of CEI-Association of North Carolina Eng- lish Instructors where she served as membership chair for western North Carolina as well as Co-program coordinator for the 2009 convention. Mrs. Taylor is currently a PhD. candidate at Indiana University and holds a Masters in Arts degree from Appalachian University and Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi University for Women.
