During the 2011 North Carolina Main Street Conference, hosted at The Don Gibson Theatre in Shelby January 26-28th, Uptown Shelby Association’s Champion for 2010 was recognized as part of an awards program for the confer- ence attendees. The Champions were the members of the Raper-Roark Trust Board of Governors, in recognition of the work that the Trust has funded, and especially the foresight of founders, former Mayor Les Roark and the late former City Councilman Rev.
