Established 1988 Winter’s Not Over...After a brief break, we’re heading back into the deep freeze. The big Midwest blizzard a few days ago is helping to alter the jetstream pattern more toward a traditional February flow. This means cold air in Canada and a large Arctic high pressure will begin to pour south and cover the country next week. Friday we have a Gulf low that will bring a big cold rain event to the entire Southeast, and this looks like a real soaker. Then we’ll clear up later Saturday, and Sunday looks nice and sunny, but colder. Early next week is when the big change begins. A strong cold front will be heading toward the area and may even be accompanied by some precipitation and once that cold front clears the region, you’ll really know we’re back into some Wintertime air.
