Deep in the heart of each of us is a desire for more. If not already, we will wake up one day and ask ourselves the question, "Is this all life offers?" Whether it be in our relationships, our occupation, our entertainment and even our religious experience, we will come to a point where everything becomes monotonous or routine. This will lead us to search for something different, new and exciting. Sadly, we are misled to think that the answer to life's defi cit has to do with life's circumstances. In an attempt to blame our lack of contentment on our situation, we are tempted to play the, "What if?" game. All the while, the answer is ever before us. We have all been placed on this earth for the greater purpose of magnifying God. When God is in his rightful place then everything else will take on a deeper meaning. Having a meaningful relationship with God will transcend every area of life. Instead of our world revolving around our desires and needs, we should yield the center of our universe to God. I believe this is what the psalmist is getting to when he encourages us to magnify the Lord. God should be the common denominator in all that we say and do. As we walk with him, our life will be fi lled with love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. Exalting his name will lead us to an abundant life.
